I'm talking about replacement. Honeywell F125IN was the engine of choice and RR backed out leading to single vendor situation. Hence plan was junked.
I guess it is possible but introducing American dependency these days is very risky....the US dems are very anti-India especially if BJP is in power as they can't push the agenda easily. We wont know all the details but I would think if AMCA is real and more than scale models then we should rather get Rafale's and let jags retire at some point.

Probably because the Jaguars will start getting replaced. With MiG 21 phaseout in another 5 years (replaced by LCA Mk1 and Mk1A), the Jaguars are all set to be replaced by the LCA Mk2.
