In 1761, the Maratha army lost the Third Battle of Panipat which halted imperial expansion.
Actually thats wrong. The battle was not lost. Abdali decided to withdraw and a stalemate was called.

India remained Hindu largely due to the bravery of Rajputs, Marathas and Sikhs. South India was spared much violence and wars as the North bore the brunt of invasions from the NW. Which is why we have many ancient temples in the South still in use dating back to almost 2000 years and almost no ancient temples in N India. South India is also traditionally more casteist IMHO, N India less so. Else why no movements like Periyars anti-Brahminism. Even today one reads about discrimination against Dalits in Tamil Nadu. Price of which is being paid in the large number of conversions to Christianity in TN. In Kerala some balancing point has been reached between the numbers available/willing for conversion and the converted and now it is the higher TFR of Muslims that is tipping the balance. In AP it is the powerful OBCs such as Reddys that seem to have taken to Christianity and are the movers and shakers in the spread of Christianity.

To say that Islam spread `peacefully` is innocuous at best. Even in the South, Tipu Sultan converted on a large scale in Malabar region at the point of sword [there is historical proof for this] and wrote glowing letters at having done his divine duty. In his own kingdom he maintained good relations with Hindus for practical reasons of maintaining hold over power. He was no `secular` ruler to be sure as many would describe him today. In Mangalore region he destroyed temples and churches, at which the local Christians pleaded for British protection. Hindus died in fact protecting the churches who are still remembered to this day by grateful Christians.

Tell a Bangladeshi that they were low caste who converted.

Sorry, they will say they were Buddhists, but Allah should them light!

If populations were converted 'by the sword' why did it take so many centuries for the countries of the Middle East and North Africa (which were conquered early on by the Arabs) to have a majority Muslim population? You have not answered this.
Because they were more powerful.

The Quran and Hadith are irrelevant in this regard.
To a true believer the Quaran and Hadith are very relevant.

To even believe that it is not so is Blasphemy!

Aside from paying reparations for WW2 destructions and crimes, post-War Germany still had to pay its WW1 reparations which it did until the 1990s.
Makes you really wonder when Uk would pay for its crimes.

But then again the Germans accepted the evil crimes they had commited and their history teaches them about it unlike the Brits who are too shameless to accept their fault.

For a shameless country like UK auch things are fruitless.

They won't accept their crimes in the first place so how can we make them pay for it.
It's all about influence. India has a much bigger econony now tha UK and if used right India can elbow UK, if you know what I mean.

But why live in the past? India is ahead now. And whether you like it or not without England I doubt there would be a unified India.:truestory:

India not interested in money /aid /anything.
India wants positive relationship with countries but UK try to meddle into our internal affairs that's the issue if they will keep doing that we will keep our relationship focused towards economic factors only not in strategic area.

Tho a official apology for jailwan wala bagh cold blooded massacre will be nice.

As for united india and all you need to remember india is not united because of UK Or xyz country its because of it's people which are living together we have a propagating neighborhood who is still trying to spread insurgency in india but still they are minuscule.

When india got independence there were hundreds of princely states they joined republic of india with will and people from non of the states expect kashmir opposed that.

Uk even didn't wanted a united india.

UK particularly have lots of mirpuri aka Pakistani Punjabi speaking POK people which propagate thing's against india and use UK as ground to spread their anti india agenda.
They force government their to pass bill on indian territory and opposition parties to use anti india to gain votes this the basic issue for now.

Pakistani influence on UK is the reason why relationship stays mediocre at best.

Things may change, but slowly. The Bristish government has accepted liability for crimes committed during the Mau Mau rebellion in Kenya. It is a first step.
