This is what happens when colonialism is not taught in their schools.

======

Former 🇬🇧 National Security Adviser and Ambassador to the US Kim Darroch says UK has a “warm and fuzzy” view of India, but India is “ruthlessly unsentimental.”

He doubts a UK-India trade deal is possible (that’s not exactly what his former colleagues are saying).

There is a pro EU lobby in UK which was against brexit . UK now diversifying its economic relations ... A trade deal with India is seen as the ultimate post-Brexit prize ... So lobby is against it . And i ll nt be surprised if there is some money from china flowing there . If trade deal is in interest of india then we should avoid what some lords and sirs say .

there has been project of sorts by Carnegie India called policy xchange over the past year, they were trying to explore and give official inputs to both GoI and UK Gov on areas of co-operation. their reports should be available online. yesterday's event was part of culmination of that project.

my opinions are based on what i gathered from these engagements. one of these engagements, i have posted in think tank thread. and my observation is that, both govts are pursuing a limited scope.

for example :

ÂŁ23bn bilateral trade target by 2035 is laughable.

Britain said the deal could almost double British exports to India, and boost total trade between the countries by ÂŁ28bn per year by 2035. Total trade in 2019 was worth ÂŁ23bn.

Colourful and cultural welcome for British PM Boris Johnson at the Adani Township ahead of his meeting with Adani Group chairperson Gautam Adani

It took them 75 years to pick up the courage. Or is it fortuitous circumstances.
First UK Prime Minister @BorisJohnson to visit Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

I fully support a strong FTA between them and us. See, the modern Brit is probably as fed up with the liberal-woke-imperialistic crap that their satrangi-feminist-labour party trio keeps harping about. They want to have a good trade deal and if they are ready to give us the stuff that we want, then why not? This is no longer a vertical partnership but a lateral one.

Britain under the Conservatives is a friendly country - at least, as friendly as the Anglo-Saxons can be. The FTA will allow an increased inflow of investments bidirectionally. The only concern to note here is that the Conservatives are not doing well right now if their media is to be believed (can't say who's accurate). The Liberals (not our Secular-Left types, but really Liberal) are not such a big force and Labour Party is a proto-Jihadi-Marxist party.

Britain and India aim for free trade deal by October, says Johnson
hmm seems the house of Orange and the Orange lodge are returning to India. England was trading in India until those Orange men usurped control in 1688. Affairs with India changed after that. Enjoy their return.

India uk will collaborate on combat aircraft design, marine propulsion and jet engine technology .
intensifying cooperation on joint research, co design and production of emerging defence systems, with the UK assuring that the highest level of access to technology will be given to the Indian industry in coming days.

This is very significant development with respect to india's defence sector .

Calligraphy experts ko banado PM phir....
As in western schooling system children are switching to typing on a PC at a very early stage ( partly due to Corona), bad handwriting will be a norm in the future.
