My short account of the attack , for beginners in military topics---

First of all , the decision to strike was inevitable because the Jaish e Mohammed was going to terror bomb again after the Pulwama attack .

Our intelligence agents from RAW had found out that the JEM had shifted many terrorists from their launch pads along LOC to balakot in Pakistan . Here they were in a training camp cum resort with firing range for practicing and swimming pool as well . Head of this camp was Azhar Yusuf , who was brother in law of JEM chief Masood Azhar .

Our 12 french built mirage 2000 jets took off from their main base of Gwalior in central India rather than any forward base in order to surprise . If they had been shifted to forward base then ISI spies would have conveyed the info to Pakistan . After the mirages took off they underwent mid air refuelling from 2 Russian built Ilyushin 78 air tankers which had flown in from Agra .

As the mirages moved towards Pakistan they were joined by some Sukhoi 30 MKI air dominance fighters from Bareilly and halwara air bases , whose task was to protect them from air attack . The whole formation crossed the LOC and then into Pakistan itself . Additional sukhois were flying along the LOC in case an air battle broke out . Indeed some Pakistani fighter jets were directed towards the formation but went back and did not attack because they were Chinese tech inferior jf 17 fighters unable to match our fighters .

All this was happening around 3 am in dead of night . At 3 .27 am the mirages released their payload on the target . It consisted of Israeli built spice 2000 laser guided bombs . The laser designator paints the target with a beam of laser and the bomb then rides along the beam to smash into the target . Also some Israeli built AGM 142 ( Popeye 2 ) missiles were fired from a distance of 60 to 80 km . The destruction was complete and at least 300 jehadis were killed . Some camps near LOC were hit too . They had been identified by Israeli built heron drones by aerial surveillance .

The balakot camp was spread over 6 acres , so 6 big 1000 kg bombs were used . It is 64 km from abottabad where Osama bin Laden was killed . The havoc rose nearby villagers from their sleep according to BBC Urdu , which took interviews of the villagers . The villagers thought that some earthquake was shaking them out of their sleep . The Indian fighter jets returned to their bases by 4 am . The IAF was using Phalcon AWACS and another mini AWACS to track enemy fighters . AWACS is plane with huge 400 km range radar that detects enemy fighters and transfers that info to our fighters by data link . The AWACS flew from Bhatinda air base .

This is the first air attack by a nuclear power on the territory of another nuclear power . So it is a record of sorts . Jai Hind !!

IAF Shoots Down Pakistan's F-16 in Retaliatory Fire After it Violates Indian Airspace

New Delhi: A Pakistani F-16 fighter jet that violated Indian air space on Wednesday morning was shot down in retaliatory fire, senior government officials said.

According to sources, the warplane was shot three kilometres within Pakistan territory in Lam valley of Nowshera sector. A parachute was seen as the F-16 was going down, but the condition of the pilot is unknown.

The Pakistani fighter jets violated Indian air space in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch and Nowshera sectors. Government officials said that they were pushed back by Indian aircraft that were on patrol duty.

The Pakistani jets dropped bombs while returning, officials said. There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage.

Pakistan denied its F-16 was shot down and claimed that the US-made warplane was not even part of the formation. It said that its jets had crossed the Line of Control to undertake strikes in India for "self defence", a day after IAF warplanes conducted airstrikes at a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Foreign Office, said in a statement: "Today, Pakistan Air Force undertook strikes across Line of Control from within Pakistani airspace. This was not a retaliation to continued Indian belligerence,"

"Pakistan has therefore, taken strikes at non-military target, avoiding human loss and collateral damage. Sole purpose being to demonstrate our right, will and capability for self defence. We have no intention of escalation, but are fully prepared to do so if forced into that paradigm.”

"That is why we undertook the action with clear warning and in broad daylight. For the last few years, India has been trying to establish what they call 'a new normal' a thinly veiled term for doing acts of aggression at whatever pretext they wish on a given day,” it said.

The major escalation of tension has forced the government to shut down five airports at Srinagar, Jammu, Leh Chandigarh and Amritsar for civilian air traffic shortly after Pakistani jets entered India.

In Srinagar, an official of the Airports Authority of India told PTI, "The civilian air traffic has been suspended temporarily in view of the emergency".

The flare up in the cross-LoC shelling, which was initiated by Pakistani troops in early hours of Wednesday, has also resulted in security forces and other establishments being put on a heightened alert.

I am from a school of thought where I believe in the enemy's claim and then plan further.

I hope India escalates and bomb the hell out of PAF. This is just the start.

Deescalation on the cards, it's even now. Both have agreed to deescalate. Wait for the official confirmation
Please don't ask for the source as I Google is not my source.

The air strike is good news. But we have a lot of unfinished business after today morning's capture of our pilots. We need to use Muzaffarabad as a card to negotiate the release of our Wg. Cdr. Abhinav.

POK is closer than Balakot (KP one, not in their side of Punjab) and that should be conveyed to them in as many clear words.

Unless they return our pilot in safe and healthy shape, we should aim for their border cities and civilian casualty. For every harm done to our one soldier, there has to be a eight-to-tenfold price. And that has to be their uniformed personnel.

Killing civilians will only make them look better.
