It is true that UN discussions started immediately after feb 27th and that too in quick succession after previous attempt.

Argument can be made that India’s escalation was bad for optics for Chinese. The fact that Chinese will not intervene when our forces keep banging pakis will become common knowledge in pak, and may have indirect negative impact on CPEC.

If true I fully endorse this....

I also suspect the same that India was pacified by promising azhar as UN designated terrorist. Yes It's a good tradeoff because I think Modi and BJP wanted to get rid of Pakistan and jump into election mode. I don't blame them, they can't let a pappu occupy throne.

Given that Modi was aware of unsuccessful paki mission on 27 Feb whilst PAF losing their f16, his primary goal was to bring Abhi back and got azhar as trophy extra.

I too acknowledge that getting Modi re-elected was more priority than rubbing it deeper into Pakistan.

Pakistani Agencies Hiding Masood Azhar in a Safe House in Islamabad
May 1 (ANI): Designated as a global terrorist by the United Nations, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief and Pulwama terror attack mastermind Masood Azhar has been shifted to a safe house in Islamabad from his residence in Bahawalpur by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), sources have said. A dossier prepared by the government on the global terrorist which has also been shared with the international community, says that the Azhar was "put under house arrest at Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, post 'Balakot Attack' (26.02.2019) and has been recently shifted to a Safe House in Islamabad.

Sources said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj played a key role in getting Masood Azhar designated as a global terrorist by the United Nations Security Council.To convince China and Bring them on board with the demand, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was constantly in touch with his counterpart in Beijing. Don't categorize r73 and derby. One is infra red homing/ heat seeking and other is radar homing.

Mig 21 radar is shit. Why mig 21 is lethal is because they are guided by AWACS or su 30 mki in conflict while switching on their elta jamming pod.

That's why I said next time IAF goes against PAF, keep 1 su 30 mki with AWACS killer missiles.

It's like cloud computing, one does all the processing (AWACS) and other are dumb terminals (single engine bisons or Tejas). They sure do have some radar visibility but NOTHING compared to AWACS or even su 30 mki.

For the people who are sceptical about declaring Masood Azhar as terrorist and their thinking that this development will not change any thing. JeM is an extended arm of Pakistan Army, by declaring Masood Azhar as a terrorist the world powers made a statement that they are against the rogue behaviour of Pakistan Army. Which also means Indian can hunt the terror assets of ISI at its free will.

The world acknowledged to the fact that India has the right to go after Pakistani based terrorists and terror handlers. This is exactly what Modiji declared ‘abhi to shuru Hui hai’ in his rally today.

Second, congratulations to Indian diplomats who dealt the set backs at UNSC with a cool head and achieved their objectives.

Getting Masood Azhar on the UN terror list is a good diplomatic victory.

But we all know that Hafiz Saeed has been on the same list for the last 10+ years....and a fat good it did to India!!

These things will only matter as much as India is willing to exploit it. Technically these listing give India a green light to ASSASSINATE them in Paki land with absolutely no immunity! Technically the world community is duty bound to honor India's actions if it were to assassinate these jihadi scum! At least India should launch pre-emptive launches against LeT & JeM!!!

In a twist, it appears that India agreed not to retaliate to Pakis air raid into India because US, IK & France promised to push Masood Azhar into the terror list. Now it would be a travesty it Masood Azhar continues to proliferate his jihadi scum while India lost a golden opportunity to teach Pakis a life snuffing lesson via counter raid!

India next big option is to mount pressure via FATF etc. Blacklisting Pakis would be the ultimate victory in the near term.

In my view, Modi should not talk with IK until some kind of decisive gain is made against Pakis!
