Sangeeta Mall
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Sangeeta Mall, the wife of a Rifleman who was killed in action in J&K while battling terrorists, was commissioned into the Indian Army
  • She worked as a teacher before marrying Shishir Mall in 2013. Shishir, who was part of Gorkha Rifles, was serving in the Baramulla sector of J&K
DEHARDUN: In an inspirational story, Sangeeta Mall, the wife of a Rifleman who was killed in action in J&K while battling terrorists, was commissioned into the Indian Army after passing out from the Officers Training Academy in Chennai on Saturday.
Sangeeta worked as a teacher before marrying Shishir Mall in 2013. Shishir, who was part of Gorkha Rifles, was serving in the Baramulla sector of J&K when he was killed while battling terrorists in September 2015. After his death, Sangeeta quit her teaching job to be by her mother-in-law’s side.
Not only did Sangeeta have to deal with the tragedy of her husband’s death but she also suffered a miscarriage. “My mother supported her and encouraged her to study further and do a banking job,” said Sushant Mall, Sangeeta’s brother-in-law. He added that Sangeeta became motivated to join the army after she attended an investiture ceremony in Ranikhet in 2016 where Shishir was awarded Sena Medal posthumously.
She worked hard and cleared the OTA examination,” he said. After a rigorous training at the academy, she was commissioned in army as a Lieutenant in the short service commission

Interesting....

Barbaria wants to mediate because this standoff severely destabilises Salman's plans? Saudis could offer Delhi oil discounts.

Is China's neutrality in the matter somehow linked to making sure China, and not Barbaria remains pakis' sugga-daddy?

Games within games.
Question though is, why would India take any deal when we are literally toying with Pakis now?

I don't think Saudis hold any cards. Oil discount is not much to go on, it's a start but in scheme of what we are talking about, it's not even an appetizer.

All India needs to do is to maintain this aggressive posturing for few months and see how the Pakis wither away from within.
Already Balouchs are causing trouble and the Pakis are just too stretched to even care.

So, question is, is there ANYTHING ANYONE can offer that will satisfy India?
May be Saudis should start with Hafiz & Dawoods heads on a platter, preferably with their testicles in their mouths offered - mind you, that's just the start.

Saudi are more interested in their Refinery project in Gujarat and the oil India is going to buy for strategic reserves. Given the right cookie/ bone, they wl chew and keep mum when we screw Pakis.

Saudis have a vested interest in the sense that they deem themselves as the Alpha dog in the Muslim ummah (Turkey also tussling for that role); as such they want to show that they can take care of one of their own!
Pakis already left their balls in Saudi safe when they borrowed $$$ billions - after big bluster of not sending troops in Yemen! Saudis will probably extract some more concessions from Pakis, for saving Paki ass from hemorrhaging under Indian assault!! It'll be curious to know what they might offer India in return for standing down.
All said and done, Modi cannot be seen as a Saudi supplicant at this time...............as Opposition will bury him with that.

Modi too won't be pushing the aggression envelope too much at this time on the Paki front, for the fear that something might back fire. He's done something symbolic & tangible - destruction of Jaish training camp. He'll be happy with the catharsis it has brought to the aggrieved Indians. He'll just keep the status quo on the military tension level; while bearing down on Pakis via FATF, IMF, ICC etc. A more decisive action might be taken once he comes back to power.

I really want to know what type of drones is this . hope we are not shooting down those cheap chinese DJI type drones using our Sypder SAM and AD Guns ..
AD gun is fine. Agree on SPYDER being an overkill, I think it was done the first time so as to take no chances and due to knee jerk reaction to a new kind of threat (being on high alert).

The 2 drones shot could be the same ones that tried to drop something and scoot, as per the earlier news. From the pictures posted and comparing the sizes, doesn't seem like the burq missile, more like debris or an empty shell. The bomb run part seems to be a false alert. More news from the incidents could shed light.

Pakis are not getting a dialogue at any cost!
Saudis may be more interested in making sure that a full on 'conflict' doesn't break out.
As I said before, Pakis won't get too much beating until after the election. Any miscalculation could make things worse for Modi. Modi has achieved what's necessary to assuage the nation and also buttress his poll prospects.

I believe this is the tactic Doval talked about.
Make the proxy very very costly for Pakis.

In fact maintaining this heightened aggression for long period where we do periodic strikes on terrorists across the border is in the best interests of India.
This would ensure Pakis bleed revenue.
This would ensure Pakis are too busy saving their pichwada to think of India.

I really don't see any reason for India to lower the stance, it suits perfectly well.
Keep striking now and then to keep Pakis honest.
Wonder how long they can sustain this and still retain Balouch.
