No you are wrong. Patriots and THAAD performed way better then Iron Dome and there is not even comparison. The Houthis never succeed except in very few instances and life is normal in KSA perhaps due to being a larger country but Israeli cities got more or less savaged all cities including the far way Haifa saw impacts and people were in bomb shelters literally. There is no compariosn.

S-400 is unproven and I can already tell you it is a fraud system like all Russian systems. I have no idea how the S-400 got overrated this much and I think it has something to do with it getting alot of media coverage due to the Turkey-US-Russia-NATO dispute over ''Oh don't buy it and Oh I am gonna buy it thing'' got to much unnecessary media coverage but Turkey didn't buy it either for it's capabilities but it wanted to copy aspects of it in order to finish developing it's own Air defensive systems it wanted some secrets from it.

Not because I am American and biased but the US still has the best defensive systems
The best air defense system is a multilayered system. We already have our own integrated multi layer PAD and AAD systems capable of both endo and exo atmospheric interceptions.Yes S400 is deployed in Syria but hasnt engage any targets probably everybody knows why. Its designed specifically to deal with stealth and radar jamming. The 9m96 missile of S 400 for example is extremely maneuverable can sustain 20g turns and could engage aircrafts and cruise missiles as low as 30 feet. To really take out S400 you would need upto a dozen f35 and jamming pods , sdbs and decoys. Flying low comes with its own risk as you need to get closer and closer putting yourself well within the range of formidable S400. Also even if S 400 is taken out the cost of losing several aircrafts during such raid would be insane.

he is wrong. i cant believe he thinks we will get 180 launchers in total. he is usually right about defence suff. 1 regiment has 2 divisions. 1 division has 9 launchers. so in total 1 regiment has 18 launchers .
we will get 5 regiments means 90 launchers.
missile numbers is always confidential

Since we ordered 5 regiments. Does anyone have composition for 1 regiment? Like the numbers of launchers, Missile with extra reloads etc?
Indian S-400 includes 5 regiments, each regiment will have 24 launchers & 240 missiles. Total of 120 Launchers & 2400 Missiles are on order.

Second batch of Indian specialists undergo S-400 missile training as delivery nears - NewsOnAIR -

As India and Russia eye on the delivery of the S-400 Triumf Air Defence System, the training of the Indian specialists moves according to the plan on how to operate the S-400 system. Over 100 personnel of the Indian Army Force (IAF) were sent to Russia in the last week of January and in the recent development, the first group of Indian specialists has completed the training, while the second part of the training is underway. According to a statement by Almaz-Antey, Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, deputy CEO of Almaz-Antey during the Army 2021 International Military-Technical Forum, “As for the training, the first group of Indian specialists completed the training. The second group is undergoing training.”

Any idea if S400 will also add a layer to BMD, are the supporting electronics capable of it?

Though the 40N6 missile of the S-400 has some terminal capability against the IRBM class ballistic targets, however by and large the S-400 missiles, radars are more optimized towards long range air-defence.

In our situation, given our recent sucess in developing missiles, DRDO is fairly confident that it can develop an analogue of 40N6 missile called the XRSAM which can cover about 350 km+ within the next 3-4 years.

The question then arises why is India going for S400, other than the strategic hafta we have to pay towards both US and Russia from time to time, in the form of arms purchases. There, I beleive that we are more interested in the radar systems of S-400, especially its counter VLO capabilities with VHF/UHF band, of which we have no analogue in our country.

If I remember correctly, the 40N6 is used to attack the early warning aircraft, and the range of 300KM has exceeded the ground radar guidance range, and MIG31 is required for relay guidance.

oh man that credible News , and a guy from south block told me like stories running all over twitter

As of days, IA calls the AD units as Regiment and IAF calls it AD squadron, by words IA Regiment units has large numbers compared to IAF's AD Squadron

one Squadron means 125-200 missiles , means if we get 4 tube launchers, lets say each squardon has 2-3 AD units

each unit has Radar, C&C, FCR station, repair trucks, loading trucks etc etc, with 8-10 Launchers

so do not jump on some random fancy tweets, rather use your own brain to get facts

I guess, It's been some 5+ or more years since I heard DRDO work of XRSAM and they working on it and they will field it before 2020, ( we attained superpower status in 2020 ) even we have a dedicated thread on it, when we lighten fire crackers those days by hearing that news

a era later the same line jumping up again

Do you have any backing to the above statement or is it wishful thinking?

Chinese are not fools, never think your adversary as foolish or incompetent; you end up like Pakistan.

I think he is being sarcastic.

What is IACCS? Israeli or French?

Buying Tor or Pantsir is shit, anytime Turkey will provide load of Bayraktar TB2 to Pakistan , which will destroy those shiny Russian paper AD's

Better rely on upgraded Shilka and L40 guns
In the short to medium term, I agree, but we need to switch to CIWS and Iron Dome type of system ASAP. Army has stated a C-RAM requirement in their TPCR. Lets see if something comes up in DefExpo next year.
