Yes sir, there new way to detect like at such speed huge IR signature will help detect such missiles at longer ranges then radar . But this I think so is for terminal stage not for entire flight. We too have similar system in development like Brahmos 2.

India and Russia on Saturday signed three major defense deals on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Goa. The net worth of the agreement is $10 billion. One of the key imports will be the S-400 Triumph air defense system.
State of the art S-400 (NATO Nomenclature SA-21 Growler) is designed by Russian Almaz-Altay Central Design Bureau is one of the most advanced 4th generation long-range air defense missile systems in the world.

Each S-400 system includes the following:
1. A command Post
2. A 3-dimensional phased array acquisition radar
3. Optical tracking radar
4. Firing units with associated multi-mode engagement radar
5. Various kinds of missiles

S-400 Uses three different missiles to cover its entire performance envelope:
• Extremely Long Range 40N6 missile – 400Km
• Long Range 48N6 missiles – 200Km
• Medium Range 9M96 – 120Km

Composition:
Each S-400 system can compose up to 8 divisions (battalions) which can control up to 72 launchers with a maximum of 384 missiles. This implies that one battalion of S-400 can have up to 9 launchers with one control system, one radar & 16 missiles as reload.

Interesting Facts:
1. Mobility & deployment time: Mounted on a truck it can be moved to the area of operation on a very short notice. Once moved to a new location the system takes less than 10 minutes for deployment.

2. Operating Altitude: The missiles fired from an S400 system can fly from a distance of a few feet up to a distance of 10,000 feet.

3. Accuracy: These systems are so accurate and precise that it can shoot a soccer ball flying at supersonic speeds.

4. Operational Versatility: The S-400 air defense systems can be used to shoot down enemy jets, bombers, missiles, UAV’s with its 3-D phased array detection radar some experts’ claim that it can shoot down the American F-35’s out of the sky. So, the chance of survival of a dud J-20 is minimal.

5. Speed: The missiles have a target speed of 4.8Km/s, a missile with this speed can paralyze the movements of the Pakistani air force within their own country. For example: With this speed at a behest from the headquarters of the northern command
a unit of S-400 can do the following:

• Shoot an F-16 flying over Islamabad in 27.5 seconds.
• Shoot a JF-17 flying over Rawalpindi in less than 30 seconds.
• Shoot a drone or any suspicious aircraft or a missile flying over Lahore in 1.52 seconds.

The acquisition of S-400 will make the Indian skies a lot safer. This deal will cost India Rs.39,000 Crores and this deal has the potential to revive the rather dwindling relationship between the two old allies. Two more agreements one of Ka 226T helicopters and another for Talwar class stealth frigates were signed during the BRICS summit.

4) AKASH range should be increased to 35-50km with canister launched
6) We should replace SOSNA-R with spyder missiles
7)We can also create our own pantsir-s1...with python or derby missiles if made in india..because pantsir s1 missiles are same weight category of python..
8)AA guns should be replaced with close in weapon like system...to protect air bases and landing strips from glide bombs..

Sosna-R is a simplified and cheapper Pantsyr-S1 (without radars and cannons, optics and missiles only).

No sir, see S 400 can what he mean to that no system present can tackle these weapons in terminal phase ,even no system in world can tackle Brahmos in terminal phase , however since the terminal phase is the last 30 km , we can locate these weapons before it and perform counter measure .Also there are system in development like S 500 to deal with such weapons which have a fundamental different algorithm. Also new point defensive system are in development that use laser to melt a few mm of heat shield/titles which leads to destruction of missiles .Then off course there is electronic warfare to perform soft kill.

Personally I see no harm if somebody sane and professional says something against Russia.
If critics is professional and argumented why not?
But not from Shurygin.
He is not a professional or military expert, he writes articles for Pro and Anti Russian media at the same time, and all the time his articles are insane inprofessional shit no matter if he tells pro or counter Russian things.

If you want some sane and professional oppinion, you should ask Almaz-Antei reps and Viktor Murakhovskiy as a military expert. Victor's oppinion is not always bright for Russian forces but it's sane and based on real info, not pseudo-science fiction like Shurygin's ones.

Yeah, but finish with what result? With a disaster.
Billions are spent, no results got.
None of US HSVs can reach even 6M and survive more than 43 seconds in the process.
This is especially humiliative when you know that Russian 3M22 Tsirkon is on final stage of testing and will be ready in 2018 to be a main part of MLU updated Project 1143 Orlan heavy nuclear powered missile cruisers firepower.
3M22 has speed from 6M on cruise to 12M on terminal phase and will have a range of 1000km for indigenous use and 350km for export.
As for S-400, it's 40N6 missiles have top speed of 7km/s so it can shoot down hypersonic targets on cruise phase.
