It's a tough thing to get into the mindset of, owing to the good ol times but I'd urge fellow Indians to consider Russia not as a friend or a neutral entity but a clear cut enemy. There should be some hostility for them bootlicking the Chinese for money. All Russian sources qre regularly publishing anti Indian stuff, either selectively, by blowing it out of proportion or outright lying.

As for weapon deals, Turkey was fighting Russians in Syria and shipping S400. Hostility is almost a non factor in business till they're overwhelmingly dependent on you.

This is old school thinking I am afraid. Putin stayed too long in power, he is losing clear sight of the chinese threat, and he is obsessed with his grand dreams of Eurasian superpower. Time and time again President Macron has been trying to lure Putin away from China and remind him of the other grand dream, the Lisbon - Vladivostok pan-european alliance. It is simply going nowhere. The naked truth is that Russia shall end soon like some African countries, totally dependent of Chinese money and investments.

Russia vetoed Kashmir resolution by China last year in UNSC.

Russia is neither friend nor foe.

It is a country slapped by economic sanctions hard and it has weapons to sell.

We made a deal for s400 with them even when uncle sam wanted us to have THAAD and cried how it would affect future military deals.

and in the same way we also invested in Russia far east by extending line of credit and also ONGC videsh and TATA power are making significant investment there.

If u want to blame russia for RT , blame france for france 24, Qatar for Aljazeera and german for DW Tv.

After art 370 they carried all news about pak overseas demonstration and also showed POK demonstration as Kashmir demonstration and used to call the diplomats of PAK in respective countries for briefing.

But the matter of the fact is no country from above opposed. Now someone will argue is they remained silent. but in diplomacy keeping quiet is also supporting. Just lke staging a walk out from parliament or UNGA, what you do is you dnt share the blame of support but let the party with majority win.

When did that happen ? There was no security council resolution. In fact, Russian envoy invoked the UN Resolution on Kashmir (a first) and also the Shimla agreement

Exactly Russia is an important ally to have in UNSC. Even if they don't support us against China they will not be against us either. US is sometimes unpredictable on Kashmir at least Russia backs us fully there along with France. I think our current leadership is very clever & knows how to balance between Russia & US. Take benefit from both of them.

I don't think it matters, as our arms import dries up , Russia will suck up to china .

I wouldnt be surprised if 50 years down the road Russia ends up being a client state like north korea to china.

Russia’s pivot to Asia is a good strategy but in order to succeed Russia has to balance Chinese influence by building strong economic relationships with other players, Japan, South Korea, India, South East Asian countries. If it fails to do that things will end badly for Moscow.

I think europe gets russia all wrong.Has russia or erstwhile USSR brought any positive development to Europe?NO.

Speaking from euro perspective it has tried to manipulate elections,interferes in internal politics and goes to straight up annex parts of europe.

Europe needs to understand that russia is totally in Cheeni camp now and poses a legit threat to european institutions politics and society.

On nuke subs . No one else is providing that.
S400 is worth it.
But all these other deals must be restrained.

I think after fgfa disaster Russian has lots Indian fighter jets market. It badly misread modi and Indian frustration.

Once Astra mk1 and mk2 Russian is gone from bvr import market. ( Sfdr is joint project ).

I think Russia is slowly broadly loosing Indian market barring strategic nuclear domains and some more deals to get that strategic assistance.

Regarding RT tv it panders to Europeans western audience to support Russian propaganda..

Bashing India is pretty standard in Europe from Germany to UK.

But the stupid Russian forgot that Indian are major English speaking population and we will find out what garbage they are uttering .
