Its looks long standing iron brotherhood gone sour. Sanctions and power hunger has made Putin rouge. He is playing too hard. I hope sanity prevails.

I cant understand why Russians never take blame and correct it. Rather they think everyone is stupid and they are always correct. If they would not fuck up with spares as they have been...

Hina Rabbani Khar interview on Russian propaganda media RT

Now as US is rightly calling out Pakistan for its support to terrorism,it is natural that Russia feels sympathetic towards it.

India hopes Russia wouldn't do anything to harm its interests: Envoy

MOSCOW: India today hoped that Russia would not do anything to harm its interests as it steps up ties with Pakistan, underlining that New Delhi and Moscow enjoyed a multidimensional relationship based on mutual trust and strategic convergence.
Calling nuclear energy as one of the most important and best examples of strategic cooperation between India and Russia, Indian envoy to Russia Pankaj Saran has said Russia is the only country which is building a nuclear power plant in India today.

"It is its sovereign right. We believe that Russia will not do anything that will harm its relations with India or the interests of India," he said while answering how India perceives "thaw" in relations between Russia and Pakistan.

If Roos gives its weapons like S-400 and Su-35 to pakis than India will need to revise its policy of roos by aligning with economic sanctions put by the west ,policy on Crimea, syria will change eventually and big ticket deals like FGFA and kripak frigates ,the oil and gas deal with rosneft for essar refinery needed to be cancelled immediately but now its wait and watch and who blinks first

Now as US is rightly calling out Pakistan for its support to terrorism,it is natural that Russia feels sympathetic towards it.
Sometimes there is hangover of old Soviet days, then they come back to reality and realize that they are increasingly become the Chinese puppy.

Pakis can buy everything in the world provided the seller gives then for free and then spends billions on the maintenance of that product in Pakistan, since these bastards are too lazy to go and study and learn a few things in life.

Russia will sooner or later start selling military hardware to Pakistan, and the quality and quantity will depend on the Chinese cash and pull to the collar belt.

Russian hardware will loose Its edge in next decade, they are not making anything new and just upgrading upon the existing system. The S-400/500 type system can be made in India itself, given there is proper industry participation, we have enough qualifications to develop as good If not better product, Industrial participation and support is needed here.

If Russia goes in for that axis then India too can play the game the west will be all the more happier the balance shall shift but as@guest rightly pointed out India can make things on her own the only thing she needs is Government support and the way things are going I think the day will not be fa when India starts making S400 type systems

We should already accept, that Russia will be the Chinese ally, which means It will ally with all those thug banana country who feed on Chinese crumbs, Pakistan is one such country.

What India needs to do is make a support base centered around India, countries from ASEAN, Afghanistan and Central Asia all want India to Play a Bigger role, here Japan and South Korea can also help. The west is for their interests only, they will happily wait and watch while Asia burns.

We can increase our share of influence in Central Asian countries and put pressure on Russia and ASEAN to put pressure on China, I am talking about serious engagements like military training and selling of fighter aircraft, artillery guns, tanks, missiles, APC etc. and helping them to build their military, these countries have got enough cash from the gas sale to China and they don't know how to use it, they are simply wasting it on building flashy shiny cities. If these countries get strong, there will be a direct pressure on Russia and China, But in all these Chabahar is the key link.

Similarly with the ASEAN countries, we should make their Navy and Coastal defenses strong, these things will not only help them but provide us with good foreign exchange to spend it on our economy and Research and development, besides upgrading our own military.

The contribution of the West here is helping us to upgrade our technology on a faster speed, and building our Industrial base and manufacturing sector. For the price of keeping China busy in Tibet and Indian ocean so that they don't do anything fancy on the Pacific front.

Improve after-sales support for Russian defence platforms: India to Russia

India has conveyed to Russia the need for improving after-sales support of Russian-origin platforms being used by the Indian armed forces.

The issue figured prominently during the third India-Russia military industrial conference held here on the sidelines of the Defence Expo, officials said.

They said seven MoUs were signed between the Indian private defence firms and Russian Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) for the production of spares of select Russian-origin platforms which are being used by the Indian armed forces.

Russia has been one of India's key suppliers of arms and ammunition. However, it has been a long-standing grievance of the armed forces that the supply of critical spares and equipment from Russia takes a long time affecting maintenance of military systems procured from that country.

India has been pressing Russia to adopt a liberal approach in sharing technology for components of major defence platforms as it was critical to keep them in operational readiness.

The Indian delegation at the conference was led by Secretary (Defence Production) Ajay Kumar, while Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation Oleg Ryazantcev led the Russian side.

The Russian delegation comprised senior representatives of the Russian government and representatives of the leading defence industries.

Around 75 Indian defence manufacturing companies and 28 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) from Russian industry participated in the conference.

The focus was on improving after sales support of Russian-origin defence equipment which are being used by the Indian armed forces.

India-Russia defence trade: US sanctions rain on India-Russia defence parade
By Manu Pubby

Financial sanctions by the US have hit India’s arms trade with Russia hard, with payments for weapons and equipment worth over $2 billion stuck after banks refused to make remittances to Moscow fearing penal action.

With Russia’s flagship arms trading company Rosoboronexport coming under sanctions by the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) last month, almost the entire arms trade with India has come to a grinding halt after the State Bank of India put an immediate stop to all payments from April 7.

Consultations are on at the very top levels of the government to resolve the issue, given that critical arms acquisitions and ongoing programmes including submarine building and repairs, missiles and warships cannot move unless a route is found for the remittances.

US sanctions forbid any business ties with entities designated as Specially Designated Nationals (SDN). The penalty for violation could result in closure of all operations with American concerns. This has forced Indian banks to freeze all lines of credit (LoCs) to Russian arms companies.

Payments worth over $100 million have already been blocked in less than a month and the issue will impact trade of over $2 billion in the coming months if not resolved. An Indian public sector bank that was used for making such sensitive payments in the past is being roped in, sources said, but the recent tightening of norms by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) following the Punjab National Bank fraud is coming in the way.

Discussions are on with the Russian side, including with its leading bank in India, , but a solution is yet to be found. Alternative arrangements are also being looked at, including feasibility of the creation of a specialised bank for defence-related payments.

Queries sent to the defence ministry and the State Bank of India were not answered as of press time.

Resolving the payments route is top priority, with the matter being taken up by top government officials, including the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), sources said. The magnitude of the payments can be judged to be critical given the type of programmes that can get stuck.

For instance, the sanctions listing has hit payments to the tune of over $15 million to Russia that would have been used to repair the damaged INS Chakra nuclear submarine that met with an accident in late 2016. The Chakra, which was taken on lease from Russia, damaged its sonar dome and has been non-operational as specialised repairs have to be carried out. The Chakra is India’s only nuclearpowered attack submarine.

On a separate note, a decision has also been taken at the top level of government to request Washington for a waiver from the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) for a deal to purchase the advanced S 400 air defence system from Russia. The proposed $5.5-billion deal is critical for India, which is looking to plug gaps in its air defence network.

While arms trade with Russia has been on a decline for the past few years, it remains India’s largest weapons supplier, according to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) data.

In its latest report, SIPRI lists Russia as India’s top weapons supplier accounting for 62% of all arms imports in 2013-17. It also lists India as the world’s largest importer of weapons, above Saudi Arabia.

What is this deal of "informal talks" ? What the heck these world leaders..Putin, Modi and Xi..talking about...Is it how to take the beast called "trumpet" ? Is it a plan to unite and create a military force to stop NATO from attacking Iran ? Is it that they are talking what they can do to save themselves from the "godzilla" ?
There is something deep and serious going on in these "informal summits" >>
Do you have any clue ?

I think what's happening here is that given Trump's mercurial and eccentric ways, the three leaders are gearing up for a alternative setup, chiefly involving increasing mutual trade and less use of USD.

NATO will not be attacking Iran anytime soon. European NATO members are not breaking off the Iranian nuke deal, in fact they are signing agreements including those for oil exploration. With the Amreeki poodle UK on its way out of the EU, there maybe a renewed thrust to promote the use of Euro as alternative to USD for international transactions. We may probably see an increase in the use of Japanese Yen as well.

Now I truly understand why the 2018 US presidential elections were fought the way they were- Americans were truly caught between two egotists with few redeeming traits.
