In strongly worded statement that to me now characterises the unafraid and unapologetic position ( rightly so in my view ) taken by the new goi of May 2014 - India 's Mr Swarup has given a fitting and robust riposte to the constant whining of our beautiful neighbour's PM and the whine has no proper legal standing to begin with ....so the international community must be looking to Dr Christine Fair who has consistently said that Pak has not met the conditions for the plebiscite they keep whining about

Swarup has given the UN and international community the real picture which let's face it congi could have done decades ago but somehow did not .

Nawaz must be regretting his wonderful address to the UN.....and perhaps ISI GHQ has called him up for a scolding.

Well i'll let you folks judge and comment :- here's the url and article

UNITED NATIONS: Reacting to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's comments on Kashmir in his UN general assembly speech, India on Wednesday asked Islamabad to de-terrorize Pakistan instead of asking for de-militarizing Kashmir. India called Pakistan the prime sponsor of terrorism and accused Islamabad of breeding terrorists.

The official spokesperson for the ministry of external affairs Vikas Swarup, in a series of tweets, countered the claims made by Nawaz Sharif in his UN speech.

"Pakistan's instability arises from its breeding of terrorists. Blaming neighbors is not a solution," he tweeted. Earlier, indirectly accusing India for its instability, Sharif said in his UNGA speech, "Wisdom dictates that our immediate neighbor refrains from fomenting instability in Pakistan. The two countries should address and resolve causes of tension and take all possible measures to avert further escalation."

Countering Sharif's charges, Swarup said, "Pakistan's instability arises from its breeding of terrorists. Blaming neighbours is not a solution."

Sharif in his speech also suggested a new peace initiative between the two countries. One of the ways to achieve peace, according to him, was to demilitarize Kashmir. Apart from this, he also wanted unconditional and mutual withdrawal from Siachen Glacier, the world's highest battle ground. Swarup seem to have reacted to this in his tweet: "To de-militarize Kashmir is not the answer, to de-terrorize Pakistan is." In another tweet, he said: "Pakistan is not primary victim of terrorism but of its own policies. It is in fact the prime sponsor of terrorism."

Swarup also urged Pakistan to vacate Kashmir. He said in his tweet, "Pak PM gets foreign occupation right, occupier wrong. We urge early vacation of Pak occupied Kashmir."

I love the way this govt has gone all hammer and tongs on the Pakistanis, those buggers are still wondering what hit them.
Also saw Nawaz live at the UN yesterday (Zee TV) . The man has no charisma or speaking ability whatsoever, there was no feeling in his speech. It seriously felt like a ten year old reading an essay his mother had written for him.

1. Nawaz Sharif is a puppet now. So whatever he speaks is not actually his. The way he speaks with absolute lack of emotion and empathy shows this.

2. Plebiscite will never happen even if Pakistan willingly withdraws its troops. People who think India will allow plebiscite are fools.

3. Pakistan must stop this naatak abinethri sala behaviour by indirectly begging India to come to discussion table. We are right next to you and you speak somewhere else instead of just an email. This shows Pakistan's impotency and immaturity. And, Pakistan must stop trying to blackmail India. It will not work.

4. Pakistan must first allow freedom of speech and expression in PoK like in Jammu and Kashmir. Only then truth will come out.

5. Pakistan must vacate PoK. Only this will stop India from messing with them. But it cannot be said for Pakistan.

PM urges India to pledge not to use force under any circumstances

http://www.dawn.com/news/1210158/pm-urges-india-to-pledge-not-to-use-force-under-any-circumstances

NEW YORK: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif urged India on Wednesday to pledge with Pakistan not to use force or the threat of force under any circumstances.

The prime minister used his address to the UN General Assembly to propose four peace measures, which include demilitarising of Kashmir and an unconditional withdrawal of troops from Siachen.

“Our peoples need peace to prosper. Peace can be achieved through dialogue, not disengagement,” he said.

Mr Sharif said the steps he was suggesting in this “new peace initiative” were “the simplest to implement”:

“One, Pakistan and India formalise and respect the 2003 understanding for a complete ceasefire on the Line of Control in Kashmir.”

For this purpose, he called for the expansion of the UN Military Observers Group for India and Pakistan to monitor the observance of the ceasefire.

“Two, Pakistan and India reaffirm that they will not resort to the use or the threat of use of force under any circumstances.”

This was, he said, a central element of the UN Charter.

“Three, steps be taken to demilitarise Kashmir.”

“Four, agree to an unconditional mutual withdrawal from Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battleground.”

The prime minister said that an easing of threat perceptions through such efforts would make it possible for Pakistan and India to address the peril posed by offensive and advanced weapons systems.

@roma - This entire Paki diplomacy has now shifted to showing Pakistan as a victim of terrorism.

The diplomatic offensive by India is correct in it's method of constantly reminding wherever appropriate that Pakistan is a terrorism epicenter and that it uses terrorism as a state policy just to ensure no one misunderstands Pakistan as a peace loving nation which it is trying so desperately to portray globally.

India is now acting like a nation which is worthy of UNSC membership. I never read such direct and hard-hitting statement from the MOA before. All I was used to was condemnation and peace sermons with Urdu dialect/poetry.

A country which at the drop of the hat threatens us with Nuclear weapons is now talking about demilitarisation and cease fire at LOC.

The policy of the Government seems to be working very well. The Pakistanis are rattled and isolated on the world stage. Also read today that the CSF funds from US are reducing by about 0.3 Billion and also 1/3rd of the funds are tied up on the action taken against the Haqqani Network.

I like this new policy of tough diplomacy.
If push comes to shove I think we know what the response is going to be.
We have bigger and better things to focus on instead of this irritating neighbour.

Unless until Nawaz and Pak Fauj agrees to give POK back to India through diplomatic talks, peace initiatives will not initiate at all! They are just visiting US to enjoy holiday and waste time and extend their stay giving Kashmir as an excuse.

The Shias of the POK and parts of Kashmir occupied by Pakistan ought to be doing the talking ... De-terrorize

Waiting for the day to see the pictures where Shias in POK have no inhibition to fly the Indian flag. The Indian Muslims and people of India will feel the connect on what the means and signify.

India has already started raising the illegal occupation of Kashmir by Pakistan and it should be brought to the attention of world community on more occasions. We should also help folks in POK to stir up the frequency of protests against Pakistan's establishment. Balochistan is another area which should be covered by Indian media to expose the brutality of Pakistan's Army.

In Canada they have their own radio station programs to spread the lies about UN resolution on Kashmir and water treaty. I counter their narratives when ever they take my phone call. In my opinion their leadership teaches them history based on lies and it is passed to from one generation to the next.

Sushma Swaraj's mention of CCIT. It would be a big win for India if things move in the right direction. Pakis will be shitting bricks on unprecedented levels.

The Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism is a proposed treaty which intends to criminalize all forms of international terrorism and deny terrorists, their financiers and supporters access to funds, arms, and safe havens. The negotiations of this treaty are currently[when?] under way has been[clarification needed] under negotiation at the United Nations General Assembly's Ad Hoc Committee established by Resolution 51/210 of 17 December 1996 on Terrorism and the United Nations General Assembly Sixth Committee (Legal).
