sure, why not.To escape blacklisting, only three vote are required, Turkey, Malaysia and China will fulfill that. During the last meet, the same happened, where apart from these three, everyone else supported us. FATF as a body does not have any say. If any one of these three countries support us, Pakistan will go to the blacklist. Drugs be damned.
but a small story.
many years ago I used to have a friend who used to sit in company management - union negotiations of a company.
Usually a good outcome of a union negotiation is that both parties feel they have won some and lost some and yet both feel they got more than what the other is willing to concede.
So such a negotiation had concluded recently and since I knew a few people from workers side as well management side, outcome was apparently optimal for both parties.
So I asked my friend, how did they manage to get optimal outcome for parties. In real world especially in India, more often than not negotiations fail during first sitting.
as per the guy, secret was that these folks went to a hill station a week before, scripted everything including filmy dialogues that were made during negotiations. hence the outcome.
So sure FATF outcome is because of procedural issues, but we know for a fact that when big powers want something badly they will move heaven and earth to achieve the outcome. In FATF case all we are seeing is that, no heaven and earth is being moved. So probably big powers are not in a hurry
