So India want to keep it's route safe from taliban attacks.
Every country even US, European, China, etc are dealing with Taliban just to keep their route of uranium and other natural resources from central Asia safe.

On top of that even though Taliban appear to be a uniform organization, they have many splinter groups and factions within themselves, makes sense to engage with the faction that isn't anti-india and prop them up and secure our interests especially when it looks like Taliban will take control as the US troops pull out.
