Social media is also pointing to Chinese intelligence behind this. There are as many chicom OGWs in Vizag as ISI, for the same reasons. India is close to clinching big manufacturing deals. A Bhopal-like incident affecting a foreign company (in this case Korean LG Chem), would certainly scare foreign companies.

Time to get our cousins to take out CPEC assets in Pak.
”Industrial Accidents” in India in one day and number of people who have died from it. It amazing how this much “accidents” happen in one day.

There is no order or set of individual orders I have seen that could be summed up to make any interpretation. As diversion of canals which was being contemplated in January this year ended without any conclusion and lockdown restricted most of work thereafter.
So, unless government restarted project quietly (without a public notification), it's a bluff from Pakistani media.

Anyway, 14000 cusec feet is a good amount.
These bakis are talking about shahpur kandi dam which is in construction on Ravi river which acc to IWT is in whole of India previous govt let a substantial amount go to bakiland but this will keep bakis under our heels as it should be when on the other 3 western rivers we start claiming our 20% they will be howling like dogs at night

20 percent what a terrible deal. The worst negotiated treaty I have seen.
Thank Nehru for this. This treaty needs to be thrown out.

For the time being first we need to develop capabilities to fully exploit our granted quota then after that we can quietly discard it ,no need to bluff early

I agree that IWT needs to be thrown out.

We just need to be sensible about it as that will have international implications. We need to follow the 'ask for an inch grab a feet policy' to slowly reclaim our water without fluttering too many feathers

you mean keep our good boy image and try to take it?? Is that possible??
Has any country gained anything by having a good image?? Indus water
belongs to India only taking what belongs to us back. The good guy image
is viewed as weakness by others. Many nations view India as an aggressor thanks
to aggressive Paki diplomacy, why not prove them right??

Well, I am sure the upper echelons of Raisana Hills have several well-thought and war-gamed strategies to do it.

What I mean is that we should obfuscate the issue and break the treaty while like you said maintaining a pretense of a good boy image. One on-the-fly example is we can bring in our own definition of what constitutes 80% and what makes 20%. I am sure we can "produce" data showing daily production of 100 units instead of the actual production of say 120 units and keep 40 units and release only 80. Let them try and quantify the actual production.

We can argue on the point of division (if not clearly defined) - do we divide water at the source, midway, or at the point it is actually released into pakistan. That way we can use it before division.

We can introduce leakages and show that leakage is consistent with leakages in the water system across the country.

But yes, you and I agree on the underlying principle which is we must take back our water.

Excellent post really like the different angles you presented.

How about throwing out the whole treaty and taking 100% of our water back.
Not one drop should flow into Pakistan. Hell with 80-20 BS.
Please tell us how to do it?
What to do with that water....
Unless you have the intention to flood Punjab or Haryana or bring all waters to Ghagar / Hakra channels and shift the Sindh river into Sarswati River bed and then navigate from Gulf of Kuchha to Chandigarh on river steamers.......

That will be good......:pound::pound::pound:

Modi government is looking forward to create infrastructure to stop water to Pakistan.
Because one person in my office was telling me that because of the passage for indus river water half of his village is getting re located by the government.

Resources like water can be always utilized in multiple ways.
Btw yes we can use this water in Punjab and haryana
CHANDIGARH: There's bad news for Punjab. With 82% of the state's land area witnessing a huge decline in underground water levels and 109 administrative blocks out of 138 placed in 'over-exploited' category, a severe water crisis looms in the 'grain bowl of India.

Do something similar to what China did in Tibet and divert it to different areas.
(may have already started??) Maybe do one river at a time . Better to let it be
wasted in India than share with Pakis.

China’s planning a 1,000km tunnel to divert water away from one of India’s largest rivers
