True. But there were others involved as well. And it wasn't local Shias. Though desi Shias, especially the Maulans have deep connections with the Ayatollah, and have helped India even before 1979 with the Mullahs of Iran. I remember something someone told me once. Before the Revolution of 79, India had already felt that these dudes were gonna come to power. After that, intel agencies set up contact through the Kataib Hezbollah(?) in Lebanon, and directly in Paris with the Ayatollah(where he lived before the Revolution), with the help of desi Shias.
