It is because of the draw down of troops primarily which had taken place in earlier part of this decade till about 2015 and also the topography ... and ease of access for movement for ingressing militants across LC due to proximity of population centers and lower altitude and easy connectivity.

There is no shift of forces required. There respective RR force and sectors have the area well stitched up with CRPF South Kashmir and North Kashmir having their own forces to provide back up.

North has always been active - Handwara-Sopore-Lolab-Bandipore have always been active thanks to difficult terrain existing along Shamshabari and western edge having thick vegetations with smooth gradients and dense population centers.
The support hotbeds and population centers for Islamic Fundamentalism driven Pakistani terrorism is South Kashmir,

South Kashmir is better suited / situated for maintaining a terrorist presence to threaten and control Srinagar as compared to well spread out and less populated North. North is but an unavoidable infiltration area. We have sacrificed a hell of a lot in Afrooda, Rajwar, Lolab, Bandipur- Ajas and Dal- Sumbal.

There has always been considerable swing between the South and North Kashmir in terms of terrorist strength and activities.

Initially it was only CIF (V) which had come into existence and then a bigger CIF (K) was necessitated. There were also the times when CIF(V) was a dry area and sending apple home was the main activity.

Permanent CI grid is useless and counterproductive. The grid must be dynamic and swinging to unsettled the terrorists. There have to be constant maneuvers in CT operations.

The political center of the valley is south Kashmir. With leaders having been freed now, the screw on South Kashmir must be further tightened.

What could be the reason for Pakistan to keep the conflict hot at this juncture with a collapsing economy, why provoke a superior quantitative force. My take is as follows:
Push India to take some action so that third party can step in the conflict.
Get debt written off by creditors
Try to capitalise on Indian Muslims discontent to forment some kind of revolt.
To give a tactical defeat to India so as to blunt doval offensive doctrine.
Or
They firmly believe in their ghazwa e hind 🤪🤣😁

Some of our OSINT guys on twitter have started deactivating their accounts. Anyone know why?

People here know that jihadis, common Pakis and even lower rank of Army are disposable assets in the hands of top brass of Army. The wine sipping, golf playing, accented English speaking Officer is the real price.

After 1971 war, we never had an opportunity to strike this Officer class. Maybe in Kargil we might have had. Even US WOT for 20 years hasn't affected them as such as the dead have been from the disposable class. Even Indian response has resulted in disposable class casualties.

The only instance I remember where there is farak pada to Officer class rank is when TTP attacked and killed the children of this Class in Army school in Peshawar in 2014. Entire Paki from top to bottom went crazy with this. I have never seen them with such grief.

We need a Peshawar 2 to eliminate future generals via TTP type force.

Wolfpack, peacefulrumi. Baba tweeted taking a short break as well
Govt. & Army seems to be displeased after yesterday's SM accounts reported the situation of the ongoing encounter and revealed the death of Colonel.

If govt. is trying to silent the OSINT handles, then the dumb fat babus learnt nothing from last years Pakistan's information warfare victory, its just sad.

Or,

Endgame for Pakistanis are brewing, taking advantage of lockdown, we can give them a big surprise. Since lockdown in effect, OSINT data from social media will be scanty hence less report of troop movements and leaking out details.

But if you ask me, knowing Indian govt, it's just the first one :tsk:

Been away for some time - and every time I come back, there's dhoti-shivering and childish tantrums whining "thE muDi ShuD reJinE".

The guy who got the Ayodhya temple done (500 year old problem), the guy who initiated CAA (70 year old problem), the guy who got rid of 370 (another 70 year old problem) now should go away because Porki pigs did what they always do. What's the matter with you people? Every time Modi does something good, some of you say he's the best thing since mysore pak, and every time there's a setback, you want to abuse and abandon him. Indians just don't seem to know how to stick with the leadership through thick and thin - they start squabbling internally, giving the enemy openings.

India has not been this secure (in terms of external security) and this wealthy for nearly 1,000 years. It has also not had leadership this strong + deeply nationalistic since Peshwa Madhavrao's death in 1772.

In 1971, we had Nixon and the US establishment plotting with China, Pakistan, Europe and pretty much anyone they could find against India. The only support we got was from USSR - that too was feeble and uncertain. Yet, we made it.

Have patience. Modi, Doval, Shah aren't idiots, and are privvy to far more information and resources than we can imagine. I get the feeling there's more Chandragupta in them, and less Prithviraj. After Uri, Balakote, this will be responded to as well.

How marvelous! State-controlled social media! Now we have to fallback to our paid news channels spewing propaganda for enemies for updates!

Just a reminder for the quality of news our news channels peddle, last year Zee news & many others displayed packets of Naswar as proof of F-16 downing.

They help in explaining ideas to general public. They have less defence info than a newbie here.
