We can get the CRPF to commission a few LCH, in that way, its the police using it instead of the army. Diplomatically much better.
lots of members are wondering why apaches or other aerial assets are not used in kashmir? It defies logic. Why should we use apaches in an dense urban area and give propaganda material to Pakis? If destroying buildings is the goal then we are already doing it by other means..What extra capability will apache give us in urban enviroment when terrorist are hiding in buildings? maybe we can use apaches when terrorist hide in mountains or Jungle areas but for situation like Handwara there is no scope to use aerial assets other than drones.

Sniper hit, looks like PA personal. At least 3 simultaneous shots at once. No confirmation on the date and location this happened.
Blood spatter on the wall would have been Icing on the Cake !! Third guy on the extreme Left just presented himself before sniper for Head shot. Interestingly all the 3 got shot while talking on mobile; people on the the other side of the line would have been scarred for life. Amazing video...
IMO, military should de-classify all such videos after 6 months-1 Year through official channels to dent the propaganda of so called Twitter Warriors dreaming Gazwa-e-Hind (Like the way US and British Army does).

At least 3 casualties, likely KIA by the sniper attack. The weapons definitely seem to be sniper rifles due to small number of shots. Note accurate fire on left most target.

Genuine question: is it fair to attack soldiers when they were off-duty?

Question is should we bound ourselves with fair and unfair?
When our enemies are propagating to blast our schools our parliament our cities with terrorist attacks ? When their proxies attack our military camp in night trying to kill families of soldiers?.

I hope they do, because this is a never ending cycle. Hit them and hit them hard. Roter blades ki Awaaz sai bhi dehshat ban jayey inkey zehno mai.
combat hepters can’t be used frequently because of the number of RPGs that are usually recovered everytime hideouts are busted.

Big Question
we have Apache gunship and LCH, why can't we use them instead of sending our soldiers.

Did you watch the video? Even after that, you can not make out why not to use Apache?

Flat plain terrain.
Dispersed, well laid out and structured buildings. No foliage. Clear view all around. No troops or friendlies around the building. No significant ground fire,

Firing - much away from the crosshair aiming point. Dispersed and ineffective cockeyed firing.

Have you been to Handwara? Ok Have you seen any photo of the terrain in Handwara?

Any merit to this theory?
I truly hate to break everyone's anticipation, but there is absolutely no chance of any escalation apart from maybe a few artillery duels and at max, division level cross-border raids.

This is absolutely the worst time to escalate given the dire economic situation of the country, our industrial production and factories are either closed or running at minimal manpower.
Even for a short skirmish or a spillover of conflict thereafter, we will quickly finish our remaining ammo/firepower.

This actually gives a perfect chance for Pakistan to increase their terror ops knowing well that India will not retaliate back strongly.

Image of Handwara ....

your damn Apache would have very tough time to conduct a low-level circle over a small bowl surrounded by mountains from all sides,
The houses all well packed and foliage is thick. Even if he'll fire from as low as 100 feet above the ground he would not be able to make out anything.

In the end he would end up killing 10 civilians, five cows, eight chickens and three monkeys before crashing on the nearby hillside. to satisfy the highflyers of DFI.

Actually this is the best time to escalate. Western world busy with Corona so no interference. Economy is already in negative growth. What worse it will be? Regarding ammo Pakistan will also have their ammo finished. It's not that our ammo will be finished and their growing. We have a golden opportunity to devastate Pak economy by imposing a limited war on them. They will not have the Forex to buy petrol then.
Regarding your other point I totally agree. There will not be any big action other than some tactical raids and shelling. Unless a Pulwama or Uri type attack happens which kills large no of soldiers and there is huge public outcry to punish Pakistan, there will be no significant visible action.
