Well they are smart, they are upgrading on the basis of lessons learnt. Balakot incident has shown the importance of the AWACS but it will take us decades to implement it. I think they will be the first to deploy those linked munitions(fired by one asset controlled by other) type. we will always play catch-up.
I believe we are far more smarter as we know the IAF ...Quantity doesn't mean that they are better... they tried hard to get a kill of SU but we know what happened. I am sure IAF knows the limitations of these and are prepared.

To be honest, I am still not able to understand why porkis need so many platforms of same type to manage such small area...there is more to it than meets the eye.

Is the new one ordered a replacement for the one that got destroyed? May be the chinese ones are under-performing? . I am not saying that we are dumb but we are too slow. It will take us at least a decade,if everything goes well, for a new AWACS platform to get inducted, will chinks and porks maintain status quo until then. Next Balakot will not be that easy. The new one if not a replacement will help them in surveillance, may be its there aim to keep at least one bird airborne at all the time.

Quite possible that our existing AWACS fleet is more than enough to monitor for next 10 years... it cud be that porkis are doing the catch up now. nobody knows the real picture...Chinks have the number but nobody have seen them perform in a real situation while all of our are tried and tested ...

Strikes like balakot can still happen with BVR missiles ... they might not need to cross the border at all ...

And here is our IAF who have plans to sign contract when there aircraft will be delivered. Idiotic at best. It's a plane as good as our Netra maybe even better.
Indian AWACS based on Airbus was cleared by DAC in 2008. But IAF blocked both additional DRDO NETRA & DRDO AIRBUS AWACS to import costly Phalcons. Result 27th Feb Embarrassment.

Not to forget each Apache cost is equivalent of DRDO NETRA AEW. But IAF & Army will import crap but not indigenous products.

PAF is adding Erieye after Erieye AEW&C but IAF is still not ordering more Netras.😓

PAF will now have 10-12 AEW&C which means they have world's third largest AEW&C/AWACS fleet.
This will enable PAF to monitor its complete western border 24X7 without any hassle, practically defeating our surprise factor.
Whereas India is struggling to buy some good fucking assault rifle for troops in the name of no money, Pakistan being the beggar country is going on a shopping spree of fancy toys :tsk:

That's because in pakistan its the army which has the country not a country which has army . Their defence allocations are much more higher in budget ration compared to us , Plus they don't have 100 departments to move files like we have in MoD dealing with babudom and its snail pace movements . If they army wants something in pakistan they can take money out of anywhere and go and buy it .

Also are we sure this latest sale by SAAB is for pakistan ? not for any other GCC countries ?

Didn't we go out and buy new AWACS killers from Russia post-Balakot? And really, if we imagine a situation where most of the IAF is unleashed on the PAF - this is a contest likely to end in a matter of days - not sure how much of a role their AWACS will even get to play in it.

The difference in force sizes and capabilities is way too stark. AWACS won't be much use when the skies themselves aren't safe to fly in.

Also we need to remember that Paki platforms r based on business jets with limited endurance. They are not full blown high endurance AWACS like Phalcon Il 76.. And IAF has not preferred buying Paki like small platforms... They were not very interested in Netra too..

The PAF AWACs is based on the Saab 2000 airliner which has an endurance of 4.5+ hours with a full load of passengers, for the AWACS it would probably be even more. Given the small area of the country and limited area of conflict (Kashmir) and close proximity of airbases its sufficient for the job.

Also they have more in number which can be rotated quickly decreasing fatigue for the crew members.

So HVT target sniped by our sniper ..
What a shame pakis doesn't even ack majors death

8th May, the time when Indian snipers were active in South of Pir Panjal. What a shame for an Army to hide its casualties but Pak Army is habitual of doing all this.

Or maybe they are replacing the destroyed ones, if rumourint is to be believed.
I read a few posts here and there and apparently that's why PAF is not coming near LOC and our drones are flying free in pok, giving accurate co ordinates for our fire assaults.

exactly real role of awacs is their range and ability to sweep large area... in a war scenario they need to operate ateast 300 miles away from real zone of action else they are sitting ducks... I am not sure what the range of these SAB2000 are but i remember reading a post that they cannot look beyond Rajasthan and is the reason why we were able to do balakot ( they took a circutious route over UP / CHD / FLEW Over HP and enter J & K )...while ours can look in whole pork land flying over UP ... this also explains why these SAAB Ones are flying so close to border always....
