Was Gay supooman afraid to go to Pakistan or Afg coz, you know, ahem .. the mards there love peach bottomed boys...

Anyway by only bringing superman & wonder woman, they are essentially transphobic.

Biharis or anybody for that matter will have to step out of their 'camp' in order to earn their livelihood or go about their lives eg- kids going to school, going out for shopping, haircut, etc.

Can you as a Bihari group guarantee your safety or that of the others?

Of the recent targeted killings, majority of them took place outside their residence when these people were going about their usual lives. Terrorists didn't barge into their homes and kill them barring for yesterday's incident.

It is easier said than done because outsiders don't own the streets yet. Heck, Kashmiri policemen have been shot at the back of their heads in recent times.

Outsiders will have to be settled in large enclaves and in massive numbers.

So massive that Kashmiri Muslims become a minority in Kashmir valley.

Possible?

If the state wishes but it will cause a blood bath for a brief period that GoI and others must be willing to bear. VDCs may play a role, there will be a cost involved... how will people react if militants kill 10-20 outsiders at one go?

Will it lead to riots?

How will J&KP deal with such a situation? There are no easy answers.

Have you been to Assam during the insurgency years? Ever seen the security detail for family members of Armymen who used to go out for shopping in Guwahati?
Noonmati, Fancy Bazar., GS Road, Paltan Bazar... the other congested/crowded places considered too risky and out of bounds for services folks to shop.

Israel with all the US backing still lives on the edge given how hostile the environment is.

If you are suggesting we carve an Israel like state within Kashmir, yes, it is possible but it will come at a pretty steep financial burden and other costs. If people are willing to sacrifice their lives, can absorb the loss of a loved one... go ahead but I only hear of exodus after the recent spate of attacks.
Build a large gated campus with residential and commercial space which is self sufficient. May be 1000 acres or more. Or may be even as small. as 200 acres. Such type of residential societies are coming up in every city and government can just say it's normal if questions are raised. The campus should have eveything inside it's boundaries and should be able to house thousands of immigrants. Have schools, banks shops malls everything inside the campus. Minimum outside interaction. Kashmir is not densely populated govt. can take over lands by giving good sum of money to locals.
Bring in UP/Bihari folks who want to earn good earning. Give them gun license. Give them jobs, support them in setting up businesses. Give them voting rights. Bring in Kashmiri Hindus, Have retired army veterans like Gurkhas, Jats etc
Keep on expanding the limits of campus slowly.

Ranvir sena was much demonized
My thoughts are exactly same as yours. we were too much demonized by the the yadav and kurmi politician as we had no political backing at that times, even now we don't have that much. But, bhoomihars have progressed much more compared to the yadavs and kurmis now.

I would assess the situation as something like this
The terrorist group (probably SSG in civilian clothing) had the advantage of surprise and occupying the higher terrain. In mountain warfare men occupying the heights do have an advantage. Also probably they were present in that location for some period of time and acclimatized.

It would be practically impossible for any fighting force to win 100%. of all battles. Sometimes they may be surprised by an enemy lying in wait. When even a Superpower like the United States has suffered battle reverses many times, expecting the Indian Army to not have any reverses is over expectation.

Having said that good armies are those who effectively analyse if any shortcomings were there in operations and after learning. the right lessons fashion an appropriate response to the enemy. So a tactical loss would not lead to the war being lost.

The Indian Army has a long history of retaliating effectively to any provocation. The long stated strategy statement 'We will respond at a time and place of our choosing' is not hyperbole.

The Army is probably waiting for the current phase of operations to get over and the targeted terrorist group being eliminated. This is inevitable as large numbers of troops have been moved to the area and the expected end is not too far away. The terrorists have been hopelessly outnumbered and out equipped. I would not be surprised even if heavy equipment like mortars, sniper rifles and ATGM's to take out possible fortified positions etc have been pressed into action. I expect that all escape routes to Pak Occupied Kashmir would have been sealed. A very slim chance of them(terrorists) being able to escape to PoK exists. Even if the worst happens and the terrorists manage to exfiltrate, it is OK.

What matters is our response. An counter offensive by us resulting in unacceptable losses for the Pakistan Army is inevitable. We need to make the Pakistanis think at least 10 times before repeating something similar in the future.

India needs to seriously think of doing salami slicing of Pak controlled territory as response to major terrorist attacks in India which originate in Pakistan. Only if they lose land on a permanent basis will they seriously reconsider the utility of their current strategy of bleeding India.

And for God's sake. DO NOT RETURN CAPTURED PAK TERRITORY.

He has a long history of bragging on behalf of terrorists and deriding Indian forces.

Seems to have mellowed down a lot in recent times.
He is from peaceful community, recently he mentioned in a tweet that his father gave refuge to a Kashmiri pandit family during the 90's.

What are we supposed to do about it?

Kashmiri's have the freedom to live anywhere in India, do business and make merry without extending the same grace and courtesy to non-muslims in Kashmir.

The only time Kashmiri's were in the news for trouble with locals outside Kashmir is when they cheered Pakistan during a cricket match and indulged in vandalism.

Man in those days NFR (North East Fontier Railways) didn't pasted Passenger Reservation Lists on Trains and Platforms out of fear from Targeted killings.

And military troops were moved in normal passenger trains and at daytime.

Been there, Seen there.

You will always find Naxalites and Maoists in mineral rich states, Bihar is not a mineral rich state. There is a connection to every dots, just you have to keep your eyes open and stop from coming to conclusions too quickly.
Bihar's "naxals" were more like that of a criminal syndicate filling the void left by the Govt- local area govt if you may. They engaged in kidnapping(local upper middle class- doctors, engineers, businessmen), extortion(from local businesses and govt contractors), and land grabbings. It had nothing to do with mineral wealth, and they never engaged in any "Robinhood" activity of taking from the rich and giving to the poor.
They were also the local court and government running their systems based on the caste equations of the area. Lalu copied a similar system in his govt with prominent groups being- Yadavs and Muslims, but the rest of the game was the same.

It was an unsaid rule that you NEVER leave the window panes of your vehicle open. Otherwise, you could have a bomb on your car seat by the time you return. Be aware of the 2 wheelers- cycle and mopeds with steel containers like- lunch box and pressure cooker. 15th Aug, 26th Jan and New Year- you could find security personnel every 10 feet within the city. Scary!

Yup. Passenger trains would stop at Assam border(mostly around Cooch behar) by 4 pm and start only the next morning after sun rise.

Army and security forces patrolled the tracks all the time.

NE insurgency was a nightmare from a security POV.

Cash vans carrying salaries would often get targeted. Few realize how many lives were saved after salaries started getting credited directly to bank accounts of serving men. My maternal uncle was leading in one such convoy carrying salary cash which got ambushed. He got shot in his right forearm and fractured the bone.

Luckily most men in his convoy had recently undergone training so they crawled under the vans, jeeps and returned fire... none suffered life threatening injuries

Kokrajhar near Guwahati was always the Danger Area, and nightmare for Loco Pilots (Train drivers) to cross. Most of trains crossed during daytime only.
