Currently war are becoming unaffordable for nation due to huge population and multiple parties involving in a single conflict.PoK will be a walkover this decade, I know it’s a bit long:
In short: A war will just break them in 4 and I’m not exaggerating.
It’s high time we stop calling it “radicalisation” and rather call it “Fundamentalisation”.
So long term war will mostly results in stalemate eg syria.
Today war will be quick in order to reduce cost.
Even waging a month long conflict is affordable to nations.
In anyone want to achieve a result in war it should be done within days before a nation can prepare for it and other parties get involved in conflict. Otherwise result would turn into stalemate.
Islam has radicalization issue but we must not forget US and china always exploited it.
US exploited it in Afghanistan and in return Taliban came and insurgency in Kashmir started.
US changed government in Libya and this in turn destabilize it.
US changed regime in Iraq which led rise of ISIS and syrian experiment is also done by US in order to topple pro Russian Assad.
