TNN - DK Boora named new IG BSF Jammu frontier

DK Boora has taken over the charge of IG BSF Jammu frontier on Monday. He has succeeded NS Jamwal, IG, who was elevated to the rank of ADG BSF Western Command, Chandigarh.

Before assuming the charge here, DK Boora was posted as IG BSF at M&C Ftr, Eastern Command. The officer has vast experience of serving in Western & Eastern command theatre. He has also served in the prestigious organisation SPG, looking after the security of the Prime Minister of India.
In his 35 years of illustrious service, he has been decorated with President's Medal for Meritorious Service, Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak, and innumerable Directional General’s Commendation Rolls.

He is an alumnus of BSF Academy Tekanpur and joined BSF in the year 1986. He also remained as a Commando instructor in the BSF Academy.

Our boys would often taunt and swear at the Chinese. The Chinese would get riled and it would start a big free for all fistfight sometimes with sticks and stones.

Bhai, dimaag mein akal thodi kam hai kya?

IA cannot take proactive action against armed men across the border if a ceasefire is in place. For example, it cannot shoot at infiltrators who are on the other side of the LoC or have gathered at a launch pad. They have to wait for them to cross the fence or at least open fire for inviting any kinetic action from our side.
