This is OT, but the Brits are actively looking for a partnership, they are talking to the Turks for their programme (also Korea?). IMO they must have calculated that going for a JV for an export engine will give them a way to monetise their 5th engine tech (from failed F-35) while they start working on 6th generation tech for Tempest. French IMO have been a little more cagey, the much bandied about Kaveri fix haven't seemed to have worked out. Anyways I don't expect hot section tech to be transferred by either, we should go with who ever offers a better deal (including Americans).

By that logic every major post-WW2 international grouping remotely related to our region has been detrimental to India’s interests UN, WHO,ASEAN, EU, OIC, NPT etc

Groupings are made to serve a self interest of those countries, who interests may or may not align with India’s interests.

Its the diplomats job to ensure these groups do not threaten our core interests, and if possible explore and exploit areas of cooperation.

US saw what happened with China. US money made them rich and now they are a threat to US interests. They don't want the same thing to happen again in the future. Lack of foresight have always been a problem in India.

Plus those bsf posts are connected by electricity and other amenities

BSF on western border has pretty good infra due to cooperation from the border states. Mostly the IB is well protected. It only has very few vulnerable areas like marshlands, water bodies etc. And BSF Gujarat frontier has better infra due to high level co-op from state govt. The SG has provided water and electricity connection to even the remotest BSF posts. So that's a good thing.

The story is different on the eastern frontier. You have uncooperative state govt in WB. Then in Meghalaya border fencing work had to stopped due to protests by NGOs. More vulnerable areas in eastern border. Illegals can come in effortlessly.
