In SDRs yes but as a loan. India can choose to not avail this loan. But if it did, India can choose to leave it as SDRs with imf or exchange for usd to shore up forex or for investment. This is a US treasury program and it looks like China, Russia, Iran and anyone considered America’s adversaries are also being offered this facility. There has been a lot of demand for usd during the China virus crisis. And the US treasury is offering a way to get hold of US Dollars. Note this is a loan, and not free money. The whole thing looks complicated and I have a feeling the US is doing this to make sure USD continues to be the global currency of choice.

Correction: this is free money printing looks like it. So Iran will get free money from the imf. Weird situation, not sure.
