Pakistani government has admitted before the Islamabad High Court that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (#PoK) is a foreign territory. Pakistan Additional Attorney General told the court that Kashmiri poet and journalist Ahmed Farhad Shah is under police custody in PoK and he cannot be produced before the Islamabad High Court as PoK is in a foreign land that does not come under #Pakistan's jurisdiction.

State of Pakistan projecting AJK in a very negative perspective. They kidnapped a poet from Islamabad. They don’t have moral courage to admit the kidnapping and now they showed his arrest in AJK and told IHC that AJK is foreign territory. Means they have the authority of an occupying force in AJK but Pakistani courts have no jurisdiction .

**Bhaskar Khas: Major Change on Border After 50 Years**

**Fencing to be Shifted to Zero Line, Our Soldiers Will Be Closer to Pak Border**

**Rajendra Batara, Sriganganagar**

A significant security change is taking place on the India-Pakistan border after 50 years. The Home Ministry has decided to shift the fencing, which was previously set at a distance from the zero line, to the zero line itself. This pilot project has been initiated in the Anupgarh district of Rajasthan. The same will be implemented in Punjab, Jammu, and other border states.

**History of Fencing:**
The permanent fencing on the India-Pakistan border was established in 1971. For the first time, this experiment is being conducted. The Border Security Force (BSF) has established a check post near the zero line on the India-Pakistan border in Sriganganagar. The fencing will be shifted to this zero line.

**Current Status:**
The current fencing is set at a distance of 200 to 1000 meters from the zero line.

**Bhaskar Explainer:**
**1. Increased Vigilance on Pakistani Smugglers and Surveillance on Zero Line:**
Now, the BSF will be able to monitor Pakistani smugglers and other activities more effectively up to the zero line. Previously, there have been instances of smuggling taking place within the fenced area. Now, the fencing at the zero line will curb these activities. This will enhance the BSF's ability to monitor and prevent smuggling and infiltration.

**2. No Access to Indian Farmers' Fields:**
Currently, the fencing is placed in the fields of Indian farmers, causing inconvenience to them. This move will provide security to farmers who face issues working within the fenced area.

**3. Closer Proximity to Pakistan:**
Pakistani surveillance on Indian activities has been a concern. This move will help reduce their ability to monitor Indian activities as closely.

**BSF's Preparation:**
BSF officials have stated that this pilot project is currently limited to the Anupgarh district. If successful, it will be implemented across other border check posts as well. Work has already begun in this region, with efforts being made to move the fencing closer to the zero line in Punjab, Jammu, and other states. This is expected to improve the overall security and reduce the inconvenience faced by local farmers.
