Indian army retired officers can either brag like a gorilla sitting in a zoo or talk about their welfare schemes.

It is mind boggling how an Army of a million plus since so many decades cant produce even 10 men who stand up and say we need to modernise.

We haven't even been able to develop effective winter clothing for Siachen where they have been deployed for 40 years. That's the level of our "modernization". They happily import most of the alpine wear and even had to do an emergency purchase from the US during the Galwan incident.

Last I heard, some startup is working on the clothing and army is testing it, but don't know what came out of it.
