Very anger inducing. We lost 5 men to kill 2 cannon fodders. “resumed operation at first light”. AGAIN, NVGs could have saved AT LEAST TWO LIVES (Paratrooper Sachin Maur and Lance Naik Sanjay Bisht) who died because the operation resumed in first light.


9 para has never suffered a fate like this before. Their role in kashmir needs to be reconsidered

seems like once terrorists infiltrate , they study area / take positions and lure our guys.

apart from punishing Pakistan doubt there is any alternative .

Not to mention, their small numbers make it very easy for them to sniper attack and get away. more outposts will give them more targets. We need high tech surveillance. The age of pure infantry combat has passed 20 years ago.

Indian Army now need to focus on just 2 sectors only, that are Rajouri and Poonch.

They have to ponder over on "why maximum Indian Army casualties are taking place in these very same 2 sectors only in the last 3 years?"


So have to devise an effective operations plan and act according to it.

Many encounters are happening in Kupwara as well. Wasn’t one of the largest encounters this year in Kupwara (Macchal sector)? The army seems to have fixed everything in Kupwara but Poonch and especially rajouri (where we are losing speical forces), is going out of control.

sure, could be. what happens when the enemy develops counter tactics to beat such a system in the future !!!

here my point is not on what IA should do or should not do, they are the experts they know better.
my point is that, observers need to realise that whenever there are tactics, there will be counter tactics by the enemy. in our case, intent of paki establishment has not changed.

It was found that during the encounter a few months ago in Poonch, when IA was ambushed . the terrorists were quite entrenched in the area.. Having more permanent posts and conducting regular area domination in the forested areas will not allow these terrorists to settle down..
