Contrast that with this - the dignity & courage on display is extraordinary.

both of them are heart breaking to be honest.
People deal with grief in different manner. Some can be so broken that they can't imagine life without lost ones and some find courage to be there for others around them.
the ones in grief needs empathy and support.

the video where the BJP leaders were behaving like morons in front of grief stricken mother shows complete lack of empathy.
Her family members were not helping either & the media circus put the final nail in dignity of the grieving mother who probably wanted to be alone in the most difficult time of her life.

Should have been clearer that I was only talking about the politician.

Where are drdo robots

Where r drones

Drdo ka chief bade bade baatein karta haun.

Army officers top level what they doing.

In supreme court case file hona chahye, officer jo bus bol deta hai. Aur hmare jawan marne chale jaate hai.

We know these jungles are vulnerable, can't we scan whole jungle using hyper satellites and mark those.

Kahin aisa na hoon, maa baap apne baccho ko army main jaane se mana kar de.

Safe to say Our geological survey has record of each and evey cave that could we used for hiding?

A observation, fight is moving away from Urbna areas to more forested areas.
When was the last time you head terrorist were slaughtered in the middle of a settlement?
It used to happen a lot a few years ago but now the terrain of these Jehadis have changed.
drone lidar is been used to map ancient ruins hidden underneath jungles . these things can see through thick vegetation.

could also be used for such surveys . could map out possible hiding spots , trails etc along border . no idea if it could be practical tho.

even if such nooks and crannies are detected thru technical means, someone have to physically go there and verify in these tough terrain. that’s where ambushes happen.

This is not something new or unknown.

much superior armies have fared even worse in urban and jungle setting all over the world.
resistance + local support = attacker being screwed, unless one is planning to napalm the whole place.

in certain pockets of Kashmir, we are facing terrorists + their local supporters, with mix of urban + jungle terrain.
The political class is firm on limiting local deaths, which means military has to devise ways to achieve that.

nothing new or unique, many armies have faced the same and fared significantly worse.

Let us also not be naive in thinking we will not have casualties.
we will & we have to take them on the chin and move on to protect our territory.

Maybe Gridbots could've helped .
gridbots, for this scenario.

there is a long list of practical reasons why it can't happen, i suggest you think it thru yourself. it will help, when such a doubt arises next time.

some hints are:
-battery(energy source)
-endurance
-weight
-terrain
-mobility
-sound

and these are on the tech side of things, when IA SOP taken into account, list will be even longer.

ofcourse it will have it's applications in other scenarios, that's a different issue.

Using surveillance drones, to scan the area before infantry goes in will help.. Army already using surveillance drones for CT.. Not sure whether all CT units have the small size surveillance drones they need..
Of course, there will be still be casualties.. Also, looks like more permanent CRPF outposts in forested areas are needed..

cant have outposts everywhere . we already have posts along the border here . all these encounters and ambush take place 10/60 km inside indian side .

seems like once terrorists infiltrate , they study area / take positions and lure our guys.

apart from punishing Pakistan doubt there is any alternative .
