Utterly FUBAR

no lessons learned from 2020 forget IPKF

copy and paste job every time-“leading from the front in the highest traditions of the Indian Army”

I’m not sure how you go about screwing up an op this badly on your own soil with almost all the advantages on your side but here you go, IA snatching defeat from the jaws of victory as usual. No matter how ‘trained’ these jihadis are they are still a bunch of village boys carrying dried fruits and a backpack full of AK rounds. Wtf is the army going to do when going up against peers who have ISR, tactical and resource advantages?

MHA procurement line is more Streamlined

Average IQ of IPS >>>> army officers (according to well places sources trust me)

Do the math

Even if they face initial difficulties

This also means they will relieve RR which will be back in its infantry role... this got interesting!
in case you missed my previous post on this matter.
deploying CoBRA will work if they maintain a permanent presence in the very jungles. No routine patrol bullsh*t. Actual permanent presence. those caves have to be inhabited by our men. the tall trees must be hooked with those Chinese style sniper chairs (Vietcong stuff). We better let those goatfu*kers know what happens when those rocks start laughing and the twigs start talking. Sounds corny but you know it worked in Vietnam. We need to use those jungles in our favor, not theirs.

RR will remain for a while imo but their areas of responsibility will shrink further (they have already pulled out of most urban centres), apparently jungles and forests RR struggle in.

there was some talk of even pulling RR and having them replace infantry units on the LOC

Who knows what tactics will come up but CRPF/CoBRAs have shown they are relatively competent at clear, build and hold in LWE fight.

they’ll likely have to learn some hard lessons to begin with in a new AOR but they’ll adapt imo. The only thing is they don’t have anything like the resources of the IA, it’s a shame they haven’t been able to build up a credible airwing to date, even in this instance the IA lost men because MEDEVACs couldn’t land, in early days of LWE CRPF boys were bleeding out too because of a lack of HLZs and even IAF helos deployed to support them

They don't have the kinda money for birds. But as per news reports, CoBRA were being trained in Kashmiri jungle for the last few months. So this was in planning for a while. I have high hope that these guys will do a good job given they are allowed to operate with autonomy.

MHA procurement has fewer hurdles to jump over than procurement that goes through MoD.

No, seriously.

It would be easier to order Gucci gear for CRPF than for say Para SF after all the back and forth followed by the QnA from MoD over every request. It is a hopeless situation.

There’s no way their deployment is reactionary to this event, these sorts of things are huge undertakings and require months of coordination and planning (backfilling, De conflicting etc) but they likely publicised it in light of recent events. The move to get the IA out of COIN has been going on pretty much since Modi/Doval came into power

Security forces found two bodies from the Gadole forest area in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on the sixth day of an anti-terror operation on Monday even as Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha vowed to avenge the death of three officers and a soldier, who were killed by terrorists in an encounter.

Two bodies were found from the forest area. One of the deceased was identified as Pradeep, the soldier killed by the terrorists on Wednesday, sources said. The identity of the other deceased is being ascertained.

Colonel Manpreet Singh, commanding officer, 19 Rashtriya Rifles, Major Ashish Dhonchak and Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat were killed by the terrorists on Wednesday.
