Only those who have ever picked a rifle & know how to fire... can understand the amount of confidence it gives to the one holding... I have fired a gabbar singh style 2-nali(huge recoil)... but still better to have it than not having anything against an ak47 armed jihadi

.303 have pretty high recoil too. with SLR you don't have to cock it manually.

BSF have 60+ Pakistani drones as of now, all recovered in just last 2 years, they can raise indians first' drone unit if they want with Pakistani captured drones

Best weapon for long range shooting, can be used as DMR with some optics, however, I feel vdc should be upgraded to slr fn fal,many are dusting in armoury, can be put to good use.

Weapons trickle down in India in this order -

Army ---> CAPF ---> Police ---> VDC

I think a few of the members did get FALs but the majority of them got OFB Lee Enfield.

Yeah the action and barrel might still hold up
Need a better chassis and optics tho

But I doubt they're willing to invest any money in VDCs
