Not exactly true. Ppl haven't analysed the 3rd Battle of Panipat in the right way . As soon as he won , Abdali sent a message of peace to Nanasaheb Peshwa coz there were very strong rumours that the Marathas were assembling another larger expedition force to move up north. Abdali quit India in a great hurry , within 40-50 days of the end of the war ostensibly to tackle a rebellion at home.

The real reasons were the losses he suffered in the battle in terms of casualties & fatalities were much too heavy for an Afghan ruler to bear as compared to an Indian ruler . To add to it the returns in terms of war booty were practically negligible as compared to the investment greatly angering his Afghan Tajik , Uzbek & Baloch allies .

If you notice after that for as long as he lived he never ventured as far as Delhi restricting himself to the west of our part of Punjab. I would go a step further. What's the point in gunning down these vermin?!? Blast the Pak army posts/HQ/training facilities involved in this bid with 155mm. Terminate a few corner site-walas in Karachi or Pindi who gave the go ahead. Raise the cost and put the fear of retribution in them. Then let's see how long they would like to play this game!
