Good step, IA should let itself out litle by little from COIN operations.

But again CAPF like CRPF should be in top of their line to carry on this job. JKP SOG is also a formidable unit btw.
CAPF will now need their own additional infra and budget to operate in that region. MHA babus better not cheap out atleast for a decade, if they are indeed taking over.

I hope they will enjoy the same power & immunity as Rashtriya Rifles does so no maa ka lauda will have the courage to kick around and rough up a CRPF trooper on duty.

Stone pelting against Hindu homes in Poonch district. Article mentions horrific massacre way back on Dec 31/2001. How many people remember that one, I sure don't. But lots of people will bring up Graham Staines and Pehlu Khan, the names roll right off their tongues.

As if whore-crying over Kashmir was a friendly step, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
That is the beauty of having the capability to manufacture weapon systems indigenously. Assuming that we produce acceptable quality weapons as a starting objective and graduate to the manufacture of world class armaments later.

The Azeris are probably livid at the supply of howitzers and ATGM's to Armenia. We can increase their disquiet by even supplying tactical ballistic missiles.

By raising the costs for the Azeris we are asking them as to what was really gained by them by allying with Islamabad. And taking an anti India stand on Kashmir.

Regrettably we don't have an fully indigenous subsonic stealth cruise missile.Which we could have supplied to Armenia. Difficult to understand what ails our Nirbhay/ITCM programme. We develop advanced BMD interceptor missiles that can stop supersonic and hypersonic IRBM's and ICBM's but fail to deliver even an 300 km range subsonic cruise missile. The Bhramos cannot be the only Indian cruise missile.

When your indigenous military industrial complex becomes capable of designing and manufacturing good quality weapons, a whole lot of options open up.

Turkey can be put in its place by supplying advanced SAM systems to Greece. Like the Akash NG. I believe that our indigenous sonars are world class. The Greek Navy may welcome their sale by India. If India develops an quiver of indigenous anti ship missiles NASM - SR/MR/LR, their sale to Greece can be considered.

I hope our Public & Private sector develop the capability to independently design and manufacture the entire range of armaments. The potential sale of these weapons can be used as levers to add muscle to our Foreign Policy.

Those are civilians, you can't give them automatic assault rifles, even INSAS and SLR is a dream come true moment for VDGs.
The real reason government doesn't allow people is because they are scared that if people ever revolt they will be impossible to control.
But this doesn't apply to jammu hindus as they will always have their natural enemies.
So government should give them ak,tar, ghatak as well as sterlings

A village defence guard opened fire after allegedly noticing a suspicious movement in a village in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district Thursday night, sources said.

Village defence guards have been activated and given weapons in the Jammu region, especially in border district of Rajouri, after twin terror attacks in Dhangri village that left seven people dead.

A VDG, Yashpal, fired a few rounds in the air from his gun after two suspicious persons came to his house in Androla village at around 8.30 pm, the sources said.

The suspects escaped taking the advantage of darkness, they added. -- PTI
