More than a week after a major terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri, authorities on Monday handed over self-loading rifles (SLRs) to the ex-servicemen acting as village defence guards (VDGs) in Dhangri village, officials said.

Muzzafarabad: Furious at the discriminative policies of the Pakistan government that had exploited the region for several decades, the people of Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) are now demanding a reunion with India.

In a video that has gone viral on several social media platforms, a huge rally in Gilgit Baltistan can be seen demanding the reopening of the Kargil Road and reunion with their fellow Baltis in the Kargil district of the union territory of Ladakh in India.

Meanwhile, slamming the Pakistan administration for its policies against Gilgit Baltistan, former PoK PM Raja Farooq Haider urged an end to the land grabbing by the security forces in the Himalayan region.

Addressing a public meeting in Hajira subdivision of Poonch district organised by the Awami Action Committee — an alliance of various political, religious and trade associations in the region he called for the protection of the rights of the local people.

“I want to ask the government of Pakistan not to evict the people of Gilgit-Baltistan from the Khalsa (Crown’s) land they have been living on since the times of Dogra rule,” he said.

Pakistan has been 'doubly victimised' by…: What UN chief said

Pakistan has been 'doubly victimised' by…: What UN chief said
Mallika Soni - Yesterday 2:11 pm

United Nations secretary general Antonio Guterres called for support for Pakistan in its rebuilding efforts following devastating floods in the country last year. The rebuilding process is estimated to cost over $16 billion for Pakistan as the country's economy faces inflation.

"We must match the heroic response of the people of Pakistan with our own efforts and massive investments to strengthen their communities for the future," Antonio Guterres said in Geneva.
The UN chief also said that Pakistan has been "doubly victimised" by climate chaos and a global financial system which is not helping the country in financing and debt relief.

Ahead of the conference, head of the UN development agency Achim Steiner, described the floods as a "cataclysmic event" adding that Pakistan may face "an extraordinary amount of misery" if the world did not step up and help.

Pakistan prime minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the country needs $8 billion from its international partners over the next three years to rebuild the country. Massive floods, which experts have blamed on climate change, displaced almost 8 million people and killed at least 1,700.

Pakistan's foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who attended the meeting with Shehbaz Sharif, called the floods "a climate disaster of monumental scale".

"This is the greatest climate disaster in our country's history. Pakistan will need considerable support over the next several years from our international partners to implement this comprehensive plan," he said.

US supports Pakistan's right to defend itself from terrorism

I'm seeing an outpouring of support and sympathy among Western nations and institutions for Paxstan the past week or so. Especially when seeing it in tandem with that Jaishankar interview with that Austrian version of Rajdeep. They've sent them some 4.2bn dollars in flood relief last I read, no guarantee it will be used for what it's supposed to be used for.

Too much blackpilling going so might as well drop some rather unknown victories in this thread in the 1965 war

Battle of OP. Hill. Pakistans 7 AK battalion infiltrated post ceasefire and occupied an important post. 14 Kumaon threw them out

Very underrated victory, almost forgotten, that probably stopped Pakistan from occupying most of the Kalidhar (in the Chhamb sector)- done by madras and Sikh LI

Battle of Gitian- an important post in Pakistani Occupied Kashmir. 6 Dogra vs 20 Punjab

WHEN INDIAN INFANTRY DID SF OPERATIONS- 4 Kumaon and 3 Sikh destroyed two important bridges in PoK after clearing many posts and infiltrating through harsh conditions. A massive counterattack on 4 Kumaon was repulsed (the Indian account of this battle is simply epic- will write more about it when I have time)

This was before the 1965 war begin, but in May 1965, in order to counter Paki aggression in Kutch, the IA launched several operations in Kargil Sector. Here 1 Gaurds and 4 Rajput are the stars of the operation
