Oli is another example of sold politician. He knows what he is doing. He has his escape route already sorted out. His country men (both the people of the hills and the madheshis) will suffer.

There are so many Nepalis working in India with a good reputation. India should show to the Nepalis through TV channels/ online / social media etc, how their Oli is going to harm the interest of Nepalis.

But then i totally get that "Rich & Powerful" Nepalis who stay in Nepal don't care for their brethren who work in India honestly.

On a lighter note, some Indians where rejoicing about giving a separate "Gorkhaland" to people of WB and NOW, those Indians can cherish that Nepal has given something to India ;)
I thought Gorkhaland was about getting a Separate State for all Indian Hindu Gurkhas away from Bengal. I mean if they kept the territorial intergreity of India and follow Indian rules I don’t see what’s wrong in this proposal.

How strong is RSS in Nepal? Need to make solid inroads there and make sure the people are proud Hindus first.
I don’t think RSS or any other Organization Belonging to Sanga Parivar has any Chapters or Groups in Nepal. Nepal doesn’t have the Jihadi Problems like India does. Hindus in Nepal don’t face threats against them like threats Hindus in India are facing right now. Even with the expansion of Christian Missionary Activity in Nepal Majority of Nepal is still Hindu and with rest been either Animists or Buddhists. Nepali Hindus will not turn to the Right Wing until the Christian Population in Nepal Starts Growing and start to threaten the ethnic and religious fabric of the Nepali society and State.

more likelihood that our bihari brethren did something stupid with Nepali police.
They were farmers going to there field near the Indo-Nepal Border but they were stoped by the Nepali Armed Police. They were on the Indian Side of Border and refused to be Questioned by the Nepalis and so the Nepalis started shooting at them and killed one of the Indians in indian territory and dragged/Abducted the other person to there side of the border to be held Captive by force.

They did already, all they got at the end was a sea port that doesn't have any profitable cargo, an airport that doesn't have many people travelling, a debt they can't repay and people's hostility against the Chinese which ensures any future Chinese investment will receive the same anger.
I say close all ties with Nepalis, financial, cultural, social, everything. Bloody let them put their butt on the Chinese frying pan, let's see for how long they will enjoy a burnt butt. Stop employing any more Gurkha regiment, we have enough Garhwali, Kumaoni, Assamese and Naga warriors that are much more badass, and these are just mountain regiments.
These times are the beginning of the rivalry which we will see throughout the century. You are either with us or you are not.
Besides there is nothing Nepalis bring to the table that is actually beneficial to us, strategically.
I agree especially Naga regiment they are indeed badass. Besides I think Gorkha people live in Sikkim as well & some other Indian states so its not that we have any shortage of them. But I guess Indian govt will look to overthrow Oli in next 3-4 years. We need to be wary of the Chinks behind the curtain though.

Soon from roti beti nepali will turn to Chinese hakka noddle and country filled with only chini guy's.
We give them so much in aid and you would think they would act this way against us god knows what we are doing.

I still feel we must just wait it out till the next election but seriously we need to do something about all this.

A fraction of our aid given to the right people in nepal would have made nepal our iron brother but nahi ab to adat hogayi hai pehle kand hone do fir hu kuch karenge.

They are learning from China and doing exactly what Chinese are doing to us at the LAC. The only difference is that they are using people instead of soldiers.

Not a direct India Nepal affair but the under mentioned article is a glimpse of the fact that now Nepal is firmly in Chinese camp. With this realisation, it is to be dealt with accordingly.

After straining India ties, Nepal looks to reject US aid

After China, Emboldened Nepalis occupy no man’s land along India border

Published June 15, 2020 | By admin SOURCE: ENS After the Nepali Parliament passed a new map of the country showing areas of Indian territory as its own, Nepali citizens have started occupying areas on no man’s land along the border in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Terai region in UP. The sources added that the commandant of the 39th Battalion of Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) had written a letter to Kheri District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh in this regard early this month. SSB is deployed at the Indo-Nepal border across eight districts of Uttar Pradesh. Though India has rejected Nepal’s new map calling it a “unilateral act” that is not based on historical facts or evidence, the passage of new map by Nepal Parliament signals the hardening of Nepal’s position over a decades-long border row that has strained ties between the two neighbours. Not only have the Nepalis made intrusions in Kheri, but their forces to have set up five new border out posts (BOPs) in Kailali area on their side of the border with India. UP shares a 105 km long border with Nepal in Kheri district besides other six districts including Pilibhit, Shravasti, Bahriach, Balrampur, Siddhrthnagar and Maharajganj. To man its borders in Kheri, the Nepal Armed Police (NAP) already had four BOPs. The new BOPS have come up Bangarkatan, Jugera, Khinpur, Hikmatpur, and Srilanka Tapu on Nepal side. The tension escalated after India inaugurated an 80-km road connecting Uttarakhand with Lipulekh on the border with Tibet that passes through the land that Nepal claims belongs to it. The map, say the sources, shows a sliver of land on the northwest tip of Nepal as the Nepali territory. However, getting emboldened by the passage of a new map by the Nepal Parliament, its citizens have increased pressure on border areas in UP. Kheri DM has forwarded the letter of SSB commandant to Additional Chief Secretary, Home, UP government and also the Centre, said the sources. Moreover, Kheri DM Shailendra Singh had also got in touch with the authorities in bordering Nepal districts of Kanchanpur and Kailali to conduct a joint operation and get no man’s land vacated by the intruders, said the sources. The sources added that the SSB commandant had mentioned in his correspondence to Kheri DM that the intrusion by Nepali citizens in the land around pillar number 742 in Suda village under Palia Kalan municipal limits and pillar number 766 in Mirchia village under Sampurnanagar municipal limits in Kheri may complicate the situation on the border. Significantly, the area of current dispute in Kheri has never been measured jointly by the two nations earlier. As per the sources, around 25-30 per cent of pillars were demolished in the area by Nepali citizens for doing farming in the area.

‘China no substitute for India,’ says senior Nepali economist

Published June 15, 2020 | By admin SOURCE: PTI Nepal-India relationship should not deteriorate over the current border row as the landlocked country is dependent on its southern neighbour for the essential items and it would be unwise to consider China as an “alternative”, a leading Nepali economist said on Monday. Commenting on Nepal’s move to amend the Constitution for incorporating India’s territory of Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura, Dr Posh Raj Pandey, the executive chairman of the South Asia Watch on Trade Economics and Environment (SAWTEE), a consortium of South Asian NGOs, said that its economic impact will depend upon how India reacts. Nepal is not only a landlocked country, but also India locked as it is surrounded by India from the three sides. The situation will be vulnerable. If India retaliates, it will have a huge economic impact on the country, said Pandey, who has been working on issues of international trade and economic development for over 20 years. His remarks came as Nepal’s ruling and Opposition political parties on Saturday voted in unison to amend the Constitution to update the national emblem by incorporating the controversial map incorporating Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura in India’s Uttarakhand. India has described Nepal’s move as “untenable.” Pandey said that the Nepal-India relations should not be allowed to damage and there is a need for early negotiations and a dialogue to resolve the issue at the earliest . Nepal is dependent on India for the supply of essential goods, said the economist, who was one of the negotiators for Nepal’s accession negotiation for the World Trade Organisation membership. Our imports from India account for two-third whereas that from China is just 14 per cent, Pandey, a former member of the National Planning Commission, said, adding that China cannot be an alternative to India as far as the supply of essentials are concerned. We have trading points from Mechi in the east to Mahakali in the west with India, but with the northern neighbour, we only have a few transit points and that also lack infrastructure, he said. Pandey said that Nepal’s nearest access to sea from the north is 4,000 kms, which is three times more than the one it is having from the Indian side in Kolkata. So, our third country trade is being conducted mainly through the southern route, he said. As far as our exports are concerned, India receives 60 per cent of our total exports whereas China receives only two per cent. In remittances, we receive around 15 per cent of the total remittances from India and if we compare it with the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), it comes around 4-5 per cent, Pandey said. However, Nepal is also one of the largest sources of remittances for India, he said. According to a 2016 World Bank report, Nepal is on the tenth position in the list of countries sending remittances to India, which is on par with the US and Canada, he said. According to the Nepal Rastra Bank, the country’s central bank received a total of 304.97 billion Nepali rupees or USD 2.54 billion remittance in 2019. India accounts for the 14.2 per cent remittances to Nepal, securing the second position after the Gulf countries. Nepal has so far received 43.16 billion Nepali rupees (USD 356.69 million) remittance from India this year. Reacting to Kathmandu’s move, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said on Saturday “this artificial enlargement of claims is not based on historical fact or evidence and is not tenable. It is also violative of our current understanding to hold talks on outstanding boundary issues.” The India-Nepal bilateral ties came under fresh strain after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a 80-km-long strategically crucial road connecting the Lipulekh pass with Dharchula in Uttarakhand on May 8. Nepal reacted sharply to the inauguration of the road claiming that it passed through Nepalese territory. India rejected the claim asserting that the road lies completely within its territory. In 2015, India’s relations with Nepal came under severe strain following the economic blockade. Madhesis, mostly of Indian-origin, had launched a six-month-long agitation during K P Sharma Oli’s premiership, from September 2015 to February last year, in which more than 50 people were killed. The agitation crippled Nepal’s economy as supplies from India were blocked. Since then, China has been active in Nepal and has invested hugely, helping the landlocked country in laying new roads including connecting it to Tibet for the transportation of petroleum and other essential products, ostensibly to help Kathmandu cut dependence on India. China is also planning to lay a strategic railway network connecting Kathmandu and Shigatse in Tibet where it would join an existing railway line to Lhasa, Tibet’s capital. It has offered Nepal four ports for shipment of goods which rely heavily on India. Nepal shares a border of over 1,850 km with Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Nepal enjoys a special significance in India’s foreign policy due to its geographical, historical, cultural and economic linkages. The people of the two countries maintain close bonds through marriages and family ties, also known as ‘Roti-Beti ka Rishta’ (relation of food and family). According to the official data, nearly eight million Nepalese live and work in India. The two countries also have solid defence and trade ties. About 32,000 Gorkha soldiers from Nepal are serving in the Indian Army
