Your word prove his point exactly. The cultural revolutions and great leap proved to be a big disaster, but these two also shows CCP's ability to organise society and carrying on the big public plans, the only problem was that their goals were wrong from the beginning. This kind of execute ability is one of core things in industrilization. India government, however, hasn't proved their ability yet.

The question is HOW. India has all these potential for decades, but so far all these advantages will remain as potential.
More BS. You are pointing out the Cultural revolution and the great leap forward as examples of mobilizing society? How daft are you. The only thing you mobilized was the million strong CCP to butcher people. No sane citizen wanted to be a part of it. Go read your history books. Even CCP cannot hide truths, the whole world knows what happenned.

Dont worry about India, we will make it, but not by following China's path. Whatever said and done, have you been able to shake us off our growth trajectory which is - if not the fastest, 1 percentage point behind the fastest? So our potential is being fulfilled. And unlike your harmonious society BS, we actually are doing it with ensuring personal liberty and freedom to an infinitely larger extent.

s002wjh - who gives a rats arse if you are chinese or where ever the hell you are from. all your arguments are based on one stupid assumption. that what China managed to do India cannot. Thats a daft assumption and you need to stop making an idiot out of yourself.

my assumption base on action. india has potential, i haven't seen india done the same as china. if you want to keep belief it then fine. i don't really care. only when you relize your shortcoming, then you can improve further. india has the people, many talented enginneer, etc etc, but your government hasn't invest near enough to raise the overall education, skills, and infrastructure. the project just drag on and on. heck even american are worry about china now, not just manufacture, but we start to seeing chinese entrepreneur poping up all over china take advantage of government aid.

well if you want call article from cnn and WSbuiness BS, what can i said ;)

Please, that is the difference between developed & developing countries.

the project just drag on and on.
Yeah, thats bad but tell you what, in this part of the world we honor individual rights & freedom so land acquisition is not left at govt's whims. Advantage of democracy & fair trial ;)

heck even american are worry about china now, not just manufacture, but we start to seeing chinese entrepreneur poping up all over china take advantage of government aid.
English, the way it should be -

heck even americans worry about china now, not just manufacturing, but we start to see chinese entrepreneurs poping up all over china taking advantage of the government aid.

So the last 10 years of average 8% growth without having to sacrifice civil liberties like China has not convinced you that potential is being converted to tangibles
The financial downturn since 2008 and India still averaging 7.5% grwoth sionce then has not convinced you that potential is being converted to tangibles.

Only China is capable of that. Get lost moron. Anyone with half a brain knows that India and China are going to be in direct competition with each other on every front. There is not going to be a gap economically in 30 years. You keep dreaming.

I see disaster waiting to happen for India in near future. 10's of millions of young people entering working age each year, yet india's underveloped industry can hardly supply enough jobs, and the land, already extremely overpopulated, will be stretched even further to supply enough food for the added month. What will the jobless young people do? making more kids of course (as sex pretty much the only kind entertainment they have), and the whole thing will bascially become a vicious cycle.

Indian friends, don't count your eggs before they hatch.
The value of English attracts the 'disaster' into foreign lands where English is the medium of existence. Further, culturally Indians blend better in such foreign lands unlike some who are a disaster by themselves since they are incomprehensible when the speak and culturally 'weird'.

It would be wishful thinking that India will stagnate and not have any jobs to offer its people.

And as for the cultivable land, India is converting deserts into farmland as in Rajasthan, while China is converting farmland into deserts!

China official warns of 300-year desertification fight

A senior Chinese official has said it will take 300 years to turn back China's advancing deserts at the current rate of progress.

Liu Tuo, who leads China's efforts to tackle the problem, said investment was "seriously insufficient."

More than one quarter of China is either covered by desert or is land that is suffering desertification.

The process is often caused by overgrazing and other unsuitable farming techniques.

Authorities worry that expanding deserts could put crops and water supplies in the world's second largest economy at risk.

But the official leading China's efforts against the problem said not enough was being done.

Liu Tuo said there was a "huge gap" in the country's efforts, adding that at current rates it would take 300 years to reclaim land which has recently become desert.

"There is about 1.73m sq km (0.67m sq miles) of desertified land in China, and about 530,000 sq km of that can be treated," he said.

"At our present rate of treating 1,717 sq km a year, I've just calculated we'll need 300 years."

He also warned that global warming could exacerbate the problem by causing drought.

Most of the desertification in China happens on the fringes of the Gobi Desert which lies in the west of the country.
