Consider any Islamic majority state, the things like 'Nationalism', 'Ethnicity' will get relegated behind 'Islam' and 'ummah'. What an irony, majority Pakis think Nationalism was the reason why their nation got divided into two, hence they need to use 'Islam' as binding force to prevent future 71's. Fools of the first order. Nationalism anyday can win over 'ummah chummah' drama.
Same goes to Balkan states like Bosnia. Only Indonesia and Malaysia still has some of their culture. Rest all got zombified aeons ago.
Pastun nationalism going to be huge issue for paki in future .. If Afagan govt becomes last winner .. It can be same with lesser chance if taliban wins at last The moment things get stabilized another head ache for pak ll start .

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of newly-elected Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran on Thursday

The ministry of external affairs announced that Jaishankar will pay a two-day visit to Iran from Thursday, primarily to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

"At the invitation of the government of Iran, the external affairs minister will visit Iran on August 5 and 6 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Ayatollah Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi on August 5," the MEA said in a statement.

"During his visit, the external affairs minister will call on the president and on the sidelines, will also meet other leaders," it added.

Raisi, a hardliner and known to be close to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, won the presidential election in June by a landslide.

Jaishankar called on President-elect Raisi during a stopover at the Iranian capital on his way to Russia last month.

The external affairs minister also held extensive talks with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif in Tehran, covering a range of key issues including the fast-evolving situation in Afghanistan.

His visit to Tehran coincided with Iran hosting an intra-Afghan dialogue in the country.

Iran has been a key country for India in the Gulf region.

The two sides have been jointly focussing on improving connectivity between South East Asia and Central Asia.

At a connectivity conference in Tashkent last month, Jaishankar projected Iran's Chabahar port as a key regional transit hub, including Afghanistan.

Located in the Sistan-Balochistan province on energy-rich Iran's southern coast, the Chabahar port is being developed by India, Iran and Afghanistan to boost connectivity and trade ties. -- PTI ;-)

What is happening in Afghanistan is not due to Pakistan attempting to take control of the country. It is due to a radical Afghan Islamicist faction wishing to impose its beliefs on the people of the country whether they want that or not.
No. It is Pakistan which created, funded, trained and armed Taliban in 1980s to counter communists in Afghanistan. Their ministers are still openly cheering of Taliban for a reason.

If you don't believe that is the case, please do educate me. By the way, I do not find insults against Islam or Pakistan educational. If you can't do better than that, please do not bother replying.
Pakistan's policy of using Islamists against Afghan nationalists, started under Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1974 much before the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979.. So, this Pakistani trope that they started using Islamists as their strategic depth in Afghanistan under US and Saudi pressure is all make believe.. US was initially uninterested in buying into Pakistan's scheme, but Pakistan finally succeeded in convincing US to fund the Afghan Jihad.. And what started as a small unit morphed into a whole Directotate of the ISI in charge of Afghan affairs...

Nope 80s were Mujhadeens and Taliban was formed in 1995. Though many leaders of the Taliban were Soviet war veterans
Pakistan was the Architect of the Afghan Jihad.. in the 1970s.. although the Taliban was only formed much later..
