These projections are a waste of time. The real massive change in India only happens if massive investments are made into long term projects in infrastructure where China is a good 20 years ahead. India's cities major matros are woefully crowded, a lot more newer smarter cities need to come up. Billions in investments for sewers, next gen electricity grids, large nuclear power hubs, smart roads, waste management, Metrolines/monorail, Bus connectivity, rail connectivity, faster trains, massive greenification drives for all cities (the cheapest cure for any climate change and pollution related problem is easily planting of more trees), mass reforestation, better conservation of prestine forest lands, national parks, state parks etc° India needs to be made more tourist friendly, all the rivers in India should be connected (old but great idea), our rivers needs to be clean up (huge task) while respecting Hindu traditions (perhaps holy river banks sites can have seperate heavily filtered worship zones)
By 2050 we should aim to be entirely 0 emissions for cars and trucks (while I don't think of my self as a climate alarmist), it's just cleaner to live in those cities thus also dropping massively the incidents of health problems due to pollution.
Huge investment also needs to be made for security infrastructure.
