As many of you would remember the date of 11th May 1998 when india conducted the Pokhran II (Shakti) tests. The tests were followed by intensive diplomacy between Mr. Jaswant Singh and Mr. Talbott. I have been going through Mr. Talbott's book and it is a fascinating and interesting read. The Pakistani reaction to the tests is hilarious and in a way omniscient of India's and it's own future. It is as if since it's birth , the Pakistani planners knew ( and I would bet jinnah knew too, and partitioned due to Hindu hatered ) that India will be a great nation. I'll let the book do the talking

Probably wanted to arm all sides in Asia.

The fact that Europeans could relate with the one god, one prophet and one book structure had a role to play too. Everybody shat on Hindus at the time of partition (even Sikhs in 84) . After Independence in the eyes of the world Pakistan was always superior and much more tangible as a country and a society. It's a different case that all of it turned sour.

Whether it is economic , political or religious or a combination any weakness against large nations(india,china,Russia etc) will be fully exploited.

India can not be disarmed by Gang of seven....the world has been converted into jungle where the military power is the only principle left....it will be foolhardy to consider any disarmament by India when the major powers are accumulating deadly weapons and openly threatening World and indulging in proxy wars.
