India committed to Palestinian cause: Sushma Swaraj.
IANS New York, Saturday, September 27, 2014

India has said that as a founding member of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) it has always supported the cause of Palestine and its commitment to the Palestinian cause has been a feature of its foreign policy.

At the NAM Committee on Palestine in New York, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, "NAM has consistently reaffirmed its longstanding support for the just cause of Palestine and solidarity with the Palestinian people. India as the founding member of the Movement has always supported the cause of the Palestinian people and its commitment to the Palestinian cause has been a core feature of its foreign policy.

"India's solidarity with the Palestinian people and its stance to the Palestinian question was inspired by its own freedom struggle led by Mahatma Gandhi who supported the rights of Palestinian people in his life time," she said.

Sushma Swaraj said India believes that the solution to the Palestine issue "should be based on the relevant UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Plan and the Quartet Roadmap resulting in a sovereign, independent, viable and united state of Palestine within secure and recognized borders with Israel".

She said India welcomes the ceasefire between Palestine and Israel and "calls upon all sides to exercise maximum restraint and avoid taking any action that may lead to violation of present ceasefire and work towards a comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian issue. India remains firmly convinced that dialogue remains the only viable option that can effectively address the issue".

"We are concerned at the violence by non-state actors in the region which have the effect of serving as avoidable obstacles to the peace process, as well as to the realization of the legitimate aspirations of both the peoples to co-exist in peace and security," she emphasised.

India has been extending technical and economic assistance to Palestine in the form of humanitarian relief, development projects, establishment of educational institutions, budgetary support, training of Palestinian officials.

"Additionally, India contributes US$ 1 million annually to United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestinian refugees in the Near East. Jointly with Brazil and South Africa as partners in IBSA, India is implementing developmental projects in Palestine. India is committed to continue with its support for the development and nation-building efforts of Palestine," she said.

Shushmaji never disappoints..she is bold, clear and straightforward leader. Of Course, India should continue to support Palestinian cause...the poor people of Palestine have suffered immensely due to ruthless, brutality of "special needs child" (you guess who)of the United States. How can you forget the pictures of helpless Palestinian father carrying in his hands the dead body of his teenage son who was killed by attacks from this heartless enemy...Palestinian people have suffered enormously for a long time...they need to be allowed to live peacefully and India must help to voice concern about this inhuman treatment of Palestinian people.

India should be worried about Indians not Palestinians. Israel is a strong and very useful partner for India, we need to drop support for Palestine ASAP, it is none of our business and hurts our best political interests.

India should learn from it's own Mahabharata. Either you support Dharma or Adharma. When Arjun wanted to run away from the battlefield, Krishna told him that doing this he will be violating his duty and hence he will betray the Dharma or the righteous path.
We better make up our mind that whether Palestinians who aim for nothing other then killing all jews are the righteous? They say Karma is a bitch. If you support Palestine then you should also support separatists in Kashmir. Is India ready for that?

Let's hope a better time would come.
SA hates Iran more than Israel, so not until the infighting amongst the arabs stops and now this IS has made matters worse. Goodluck trying to fix middle-east.

This image sums it all

If you only have a choice of whether to eat rockets everyday or use rockets ruthlessly, which one would you choose?

The solution is not there with Israelis, it's there with the palestinians themselves. If they want peace, kick the elements who fire rockets at Israel and start war at evey other moment. Yes.. some more palestinians will die in the cause but if they don't do that, they should expect Israeli retaliation. If the palestinians does not have the courage to clean themself first, they don't have anything to complain. Secondly, they need to recogonize Israel which they are not willing to do even today.

Till both these conditions are met, there will not be any peace. The same victimization propaganda has worked since independence for the bloody seperatist kashmiris, but that won't work with Israelis. Even the great teacher drona or the great warrior bhishma had to lose because they are on the side of adharma irrespective of their personal greatness. Till the palestinians continue to deny the identity of Israel, they will neither have peace nor a proper identity.

Congress made support of Palestinians as Indian govt policy to appease Arabs and to win votes from some section of Indian voters.Needless to say Arabs made common cause with Pakis. So much for that.We should follow our dharma and support the Yehudis.

True dharma is the ability to raise a voice for people who are oppressed by arrogant, stronger but evil powers. Yehudi needs to learn coexistence and mutual respect..then, India should support them. Live and let live.

Its the Arabs who want to obliterate Yehudis.Israel is merely defending herself.Look at Hamas. They are playing the same tune as Pakis - death to infidels. As for arrogant evil oppressors to-day - nobody can out do the Islamist nations like Pak,Iran,Malaysia,Saudia, etc etc.Yehudis are the only descent people in the ME.

India should be just and fair when it comes to Palestine. The right policy is that it supports two independent nations..one ..Israel and other Palestine...to exist side by side and live in harmony with each other.

And who is blocking the implementation of the two state solution?

Did india pledge 5.4 B $$ :rolleyes::scared2::confused::shocked: WTF...
India has pledged $4 million!Amazing!
Saudis have enough cash to help rebuild Gaza.No point in calling on other 75 countries to chip in.Why India wants to contribute anything at all is beyond any logic!Charity begins at home.We have millions of homeless people who need shelter.
