India, China, Japan to coordinate anti-piracy patrols
India, Japan and China have agreed on a new mechanism to coordinate the movement and patrolling of warships in the Gulf of Aden to counter piracy. While the three nations are operating independently to ward off pirates and provide a safe passage to merchant ships, a new understanding has been reached after a meeting at the Shared Awareness and De-confliction (SHADE) initiative.
