Folks is it true lac passes through f8
Wasn't it f4
I remember reading in 2020 post clashes (https://www.thehindu.com/news/natio...ern-ladakh-blocked-by-pla/article32642782.ece) about how we were patrolling till Finger 16 and that was blocked by the Chinese side then. F8 to F16 was supposed to be the OG buffer, until F8 was solid ours, that was the understanding for decades. It's sad that the conversation and narratives have whittled down to discussing only about the F4 and legitimizing the Chinese claim on India's extent.

BTW, @mokoman @mist_consecutive @vidhwanshak did u guys manage to figure out "what actually let to galwan??"

What situation really set galwan from other incidents, which almost happen everother day?

If I remember @mokoman u earlier mentioned that some fck up from our side on May 5?
It's not one incident, its a combination of multiple factors, including -
  • The humiliation of the defeat of the Chinese at Doklam in 2017.
  • A high-level (from Xi's level) push to act more aggressively & dominantly. Acquiring sharp melee weapons (swords, nail-studded bats, etc.)
  • Miscommunication at ground level (we killed their interpreter during the initial evening fight in Galwan).
  • A strong push from commanders for punishing India by inflicting casualties. It was no accident, more like planned ambush.
