Xi(china) is not desperate but willing to take calculated risks for long term objectives

Inside Chinese territory he has information flow in his control... not the same for modi.

Xi can hide a hundred deaths & not answerable for even a thousand deaths... while Modi will be uprooted.
It's not that simple.
hiding deaths would be the least of Xi's worries once the war starts.

There is a sudden emergence of anti-Modi, anti-regime, and anti-army news from multiple sources, both inside and outside India.

Don't fall for propaganda and half-baked truths.
Don't worry the average Indian doesn't cares about that much....

Average Indian : Gujarat incident? Muslim massacre? Fascism? Democracy backsliding? Lol.

“It is suggested based on intelligence inputs, that there exists a historical link between the Northeast insurgents and China. The arms acquired from China are smuggled through Thailand, Bangladesh and Sino-Myanmar borders into the Northeastern States.”

Arguing that politics in northeastern States were so unpredictable that one never knew when a government would fall, a third paper said, “If we have to take on China more successfully, then we have to engage the people in North East and sort out the issues.”

China and India are Evenly Matched in Himalayas

In the Himalayas, what have the Chinese got better which India does not have? This is a key question that has been around for many years. Let's take a closer look at that.

1. Mountain road network. ….. The Chinese had that advantage so far, but not any more. India's road network is reaching its full potential and the Chinese are fully aware of it. Moreover, if the Chinese cross the narrow mountain passes, the well-trained Indian army will force them to surrender.

2. Chinese military with higher fire power and rockets... Yes, they had this advantage; they positioned their rockets (150 to 500km range) at the Himalayan border. India has Brahmos, Smerch and Pinaka & short range liquid filled missiles to match. The latter is difficult to move around and give Chinese an advantage. With the recent decision to field 150 high mobility Parlay solid fuelled missiles by India, that Chinese advantage has been negated.

3. In the air they flout their third rate stealth fighter J-20. It's not as effective as the F-35s/F-22s in the west, and they're only available in small numbers. They have not been seen in person, and they are most urgently deployed in front of Taiwan. Besides the Indian Rafale, improved Su-30Mki are more capable and are located closer to the Himalayan border than the Chinese fighters. Moreover, Indian fighters are taking off full of fuel and bombs. In case of Chinese fighters (mostly copies) cannot take off from 4000 to 5000 foot plateau with a full load of fuel and bombs. Additionally, these become vulnerable during in-flight refuelling.

4. Their medium/Intermediate range missiles (DF-21D and DF-26) are not deployed in Tibet and Sinkiang. The DF-21D, designated as carrier killer and DF-26, designated as Guam killer are positioned in the East, opposite Taiwan. If they relocate them to the Himalayas, then India is ready with its own intermediate range missiles in the Prithvi-3 category. India does not have to move them, fortunately these are located close to the Himalayas.

5. There will not be a nuclear match, so it is not worth considering as both countries know the destructive power of nuclear war.

6. In conventional tank, artillery and mortar weapons, they are equal on both sides. Indian soldiers are better trained and acclimatized than Chinese conscripts.

None of this points to Chinese superiority. China's primary focus is Taiwan. In the Himalayas, they are merely intimidating.
