To counter China, US to fund G7 initiative in India
Unless they are willing to give billions like something similar to Marshall plan given to Europeans after WW2 and help in high tech sectors in return for market access then this is all empty talk. US and EU is more interested in interfering in India's internal affairs and pushing India to act against it's own interests rather than any meaningful talk about trade. If India is used as a market to dump their products when we sign FTA then there is no point in signing in anything with them. Without building our own capabilities if we sign FTA they will swamp us with their products destroying our industry.

Vietnam didn’t. China went occupied their border cities and withdrew after “teaching them a lesson”, akin to what they did in NEFA
I don't know what lesson they taught?? 200,000 chinese troops invaded the border .
30,000 were killed within 2 weeks and they retreated. What war are you thinking
about?? Chinese were trying to get Vietnam out of Cambodia but Vietnam continued
war on Khemer Rogue which was supported by China.

Source for 30,000 chinese killed? Not even Vietnam claims this much lol. China just wanted to occupy border cities (they did), and ran away. Exactly what they did in NEFA

Where are you numbers coming from??? My numbers are from TIME magazine.
cannot provide link? There were no official numbers released but the following are
western numbers at the time:

(China’s own figures came as alleged leaks without much source evidence). Therefore, I’ll use Western figures, which was probably inaccurate, but had no reason to be biased towards any side at the time: 26.000 killed and 37.000 wounded for China, and 30.000 killed and 32.000 wounded for Vietnam.

Vietnamese sources claimed 10.000 civilian deaths.

Few more highlights from the article -

Opposite DBO, search for chip-chap river in Openstreetmap, and track it back to their base.
Re HQ-9 deployment, would be good to identify the location and do a radar coverage simulation. If im not wrong this might be the closest long range SAM site opposite Ladakh.

Hey folks
I got the old news now that Chinese in weibo added 3 more names in their list of casualties and reported due to extreme weather conditions
My question is did they die on 15th June or on the day of clash or some other day

Chinese military preparations at LAC and India’s answer.

There are quite a few false or may be true reports that Chinese have been upgrading their offence/Defence posture in Ladakh - LAC. Some folks are propagating scare tactic of Chinese plan to post 120,000 troops in the area. That may be an exaggeration but I do believe that as India is building up against the Chinese threat with troops, infrastructure and living quarters, so are Chinese on their side. This type of Chinese propaganda is typical of their war tactics. They, the Chinese, understand the Indian type, who get easily scarred and imagine that God Almighty is on Chinese side hence they will invade this year or next from that side.

India has sufficient forces in big numbers with very efficient artillery and heavy tanks which can make a mince meat of Chinese light tanks and other military hardware, to stop any of their adventurism. They know it, also they are afraid of their Vietnam (1979) defeat hence would not risk anything to have an another defeat. But there is no stopping to their psycho propaganda. Moreover, hungry journalists at the lower end will take whatever Chinese tell them as word of the God, without checking preparations Indian Army has made. Even Galwan Valley where they precipitated a hand to hand combat is very safe. India as per reports built defences opposite sides which will prevent them from interfering with DBSO road. Moreover a bypass road has been connected to DBSO road to reach Daulat Beg Oldi, if ever Chinese ever interfere with that road at Galwan.

That smart move by Indian Army to occupy Kailash Heights two years back has forced the Chinese to build a bridge (two bridges) over Pangong Lake. Unfortunately for them, these are in the artillery range of Indian guns. Hence these are not useful but only tactical moves to scare Indian public opinion. During peace time these bridges will make travel easy instead of going around the lake. In war or any conflict time these bridges will cease to exist on the first day.

Conquest of india or border areas is not on Chinese mind. They want to exert their supremacy with pinpricks by occupying useless snow covered areas. That they will continue. The befitting reply for that is to occupy mountain peaks on LAC like Kailash Heights and threaten their infrastructure.

My point here is that….. if Chinese preparing for aggressive moves in Ladakh then so is India. They will find India a hard nut to crack. Today, india is well prepared and is not lead by peacenik politicians like Nehru of 1962.

Nothing new really in this article, but the point made about Bhutan is is worth mulling.
Tellingly Bhutan has not invoked the mutual defense clause of the 2007 treaty in response to these incursions, despite the presence of the Indian Military Training Team in the country, and the support it might offer the Royal Bhutanese Army.
