We showed our cards when we occupied the opposite bank, now they are securing that area we are just watching it? Can't believe this. So next time we will have no moves to make.
this bridge is ~20 km from LAC , they build a large base just 5km from LAC last year itself .

not much we can do except give press release saying "we are closely watching developments"

Develope infra on our side also , that's what we can do for now .
Loss of few sq kms of land dosent matter much when we never exercised complete control on the area even before.

And?

What about it lol. It's not like the govt can do jackshit about it. Only thing they are capable of is monitering situation.

Instead of giving the same statement every time something happens maybe they should just create a common template saying we are monitering everything.

Basically make LAC the next LOC
No , it will be very , very costly . Even pakistan gives us a hard time at the LoC . The last thing we want is to make the LAC like LoC . It will be economic suicide , besides , they can inflict huge casualties on us . We can try to achieve a bloody stalemate but casualties will be higher on our side because we rely more on numbers backed by modest firepower whereas they have numbers as well as heavy firepower coupled with high level of technological sophistication

I never said we don't stand a chance brother. I said we can achieve a stalemate but we will probably have twice or thrice the casaulties that they will have. PLA's greatest strength is non contact warfare . In certain non contact wafare domains they are even better than US. Now we must learn how to offset this advantage. For that we need a brainstorming session at the south block which I am sure is happening

force realignment is the way forward . People who suggest the contrary by saying that we should raise new formations are not being rational . Our army is already bloated , we need to rebalance their deployment patterns and make formations more agile by forming IBGs . There is a need to mechanise more infantry battalions but that dosen't mean we need to raise new battalions themselves . Some members here may not agree with me but I think we should copy some of PLA's organisational and doctrinal reforms

First bridge was stupidest Chinese mistake. The bridge was narrow. Then they thought again about and started to build a wider bridge right next to it. There is no change in strategic position. It is in the Indian Artillery range. It allows Chinese to transfer troops quickly to around Demchok area or ReZang Le area. Cleverly placed artillery can isolate the Chinese on this side, if the bridge is broken.

Hence too much talk of this bridge is worthless.

bridge is meant for mobilisation of troops . Nothing more , nothing less . They'll try to quickly move as many forces as they need towards the southern bank before they do something nasty . It can serve the purpose for which it is being made very well .

they are building a bridge which they totally can , I don't know why people are offended , we already have heavy presence along the south bank of the pangong tso which are there to make sure they don't secure the area for themselves . Very high level of alertness is being followed by all indian army formations .

Any large movement of PLA troops on either banks of the lake will very certainly be detected

The local corps commander mentioned about the bridge; rest of the story cooked by over enthusiastic media generals.

imagine too much… Indian Artillery is only 20 km away on a hilltop. It can blow away the bridge in one salvo and isolate the troops who have crossed over.
actually they already have another road on the south bank which can resupply their troops isolated on the south bank
