The chengdu nyyingchi railway line is now well under construction and boy is it the 8th wonder of the world. Of the 1000km line, a whopping 850km is in tunnels:eek1::scared2: with a pricetag of around $50 billion. Not sure how useful it will be in a war scenario but the line is basically at the doorstep of arunachal.

Chinese are crying as usual because US flew a military plane across the Taiwan strait.

👀 not for war , but "luckily" will be very useful for war

part of PLA "dual-use" paradigm

i am not complaining tho , India does the same .
Any infrastructure can be used for military purposes

But China's defense focus is on the coast rather than western China

Someone was saying China was economic power for 200 years and more. Another one from the same lot was saying GDP wins wars. If China was economy to complete with then how come tiny Island Japan screwed them comprehensively?

This means GDP not equal to military victory.

Economic and industrial power does win wars the prime examples being the two biggest powers of recent times the Soviet union and USA with Soviet union eventually collapsing due to a bad economic downturn.

Both the US and Soviet union at their peak were outnumbering their enemies across the board by simply out producing them on the battlefield.

For every tank the Germans destroyed the Soviets created 3 more. For every division the German destroyed the Soviets put in 10 more. The Germans intelligence expected the Soviets to have around 250 divisions which would eventually increase to 350 but no more in the worst case scenario. In reality the Soviets ended up putting 800 divisions on the field and no less literally resulting in the Germans winning themselves to death at the start of the operation and finally losing.

Similarly for every ship lost the japnese sunk the Americans put two more on the sea. The Americans started with a naval force of 700 and ended up with 6000 ships by the end of the war. On the other hand the Japanese could not even replace their own losses due to the lack of both resources and the much needed industrial infrastructure.

By the time the Japanese invaded the Chinese they were fragmented and were simply not the power they once were. The Qing Dynasty which at one point had parts of Russian far east and sakhilan had faded into the history with a industrialized Russia slowly chipping away Manchuria and various governers declaring their independence over the course of time.

Japan on the other hand was united and faced a divided and deindustrialized china which it did use to its advantage until it made the mistake of invading them proper.

The entirety of Asia ended up suffering due to late industrialization.

Few more highlights from the article -

4th Division, which has one armoured regiment, has inducted the ZTQ 15 (Type 15) third generation modern light tank, replacing the ZTZ-88 first generation tanks in service. The 6th Division which operates the Type 96 A second generation tanks remains the same
two mechanised brigades which operate wheeled armoured personnel carriers (APCs) have upgraded from the ZBL-08 to the latest ZTL-11 APCs. The 11th Division remains a medium CAB, sources said. They have also inducted the CSK series of assault vehicles akin to U.S. Army Humvees
In air defence, the older systems have been replaced with HQ-17 surface to air missiles and the long range HQ-9 has been deployed at Chip Chap ridge, inputs state. The HQ-9 is believed to be based on the Russian S-300 missile system with a range from 100 to 300 km
wonder where chip-chap ridge is , probably their giant base near depsang plains
Opposite DBO, search for chip-chap river in Openstreetmap, and track it back to their base.

Few missile and boom line closed. These lines aren't much of a threat if there is a war. They are built because Chinese have excess capacity for steel, iron, manufacturing everything and want a way to consume it.

I am talking about War that will conclude in one month. Any thing longer than that will involve a lot more entities and sabotage which will criple both. Ask China if they are ready for it.

Also read my post which I wrote months ago on Pearl harbour attack response or lack of response of USA against Japan before detailing history and the evolution that expands into many years.

The context and variables which helped USA will not help or repeat for economies like China when it will start a war against opponent India.

It is good to have a generic grasp of History to fill the space but imposing it's conclusions on present day scenarios is far from plausible IMOH.

North Pangong Tso (14th May vs. 23rd June)

It might not look much, but since disengagement in Jan 2021, both sides have meticulously followed the agreement of not crossing the buffer zone and pushing reinforcements. China brazenly violating this shows the intention.
Do you know what kind of weapons Indian soldiers are allowed to keep at the LaC? (Specifically Ladakh)
