Actually, China benefits, because now we cannot fill up the gap by constructing roads and bridges, since that area comes under the disengagement/buffer zone. Any construction/build-up is akin to breaking the agreement and China will probably again engage us, this time.

we can still build roads upto buffer zone , we can also build a bridge elsewhere crossing the river someplace else.

we have another forward post at entry point of that valley that leads to PP15 , we can reach PP17a without any bridges along the north most banks.

Trials in Ladakh a success, Army looks at ordering 40 more K9 Vajra howitzers for mountains


New Delhi: With China being the new focus of the Indian defence establishment, the Army is looking at ordering another 40 of the K9 Vajra Tracked Self-Propelled Howitzers for mountainous terrain, ThePrint has learnt.


Sources in the defence and security establishment said the trials of three K9 Vajra, which were sent to Ladakh earlier this year, have been successful.



Plans are now being finalised to order at least two more regiments of the 155mm/52 calibre howitzers that would be deployed in the mountains.

Also, I noticed while getting images for Gogra, apart from disengagement, there has been a steady increase in Chinese deployment in immediate depth areas.

This disengagement is probably is just a farce.
