China is no US. Nor in the people and nor in their location and determination. No US soldier I have heard of ran like headless chicken as Chini have done on several occasions.

WWII was a different era. There was nothing that could attack US industrial base while China's can be blown to smithereens with a few dozen missiles in the present time. They will not get the chance to build up their capacity.

USA will not fight India's wars.. but even substantial logistics, ammo, and diplomatic help, during a war, will have an impact on the course of an India-China war... India-US relations are not close enough today, to warrant such US help today, and to reach there would demand India handing over much of its foreign policy autonomy to US.. What Modi is essentially telling China is.. "Let me off the hook in Ladakh, and India won't become a US vassal"..
And by the way, Russia has an economy 60 percent of Indian GDP.. and is only a regional great power in the military domain. It does not have the capability to conduct sustained FONOPS in the Arabian sea, sea of Japan, South china sea, Tasman sea.. round the year.. And unlike Superpower US, Russia does not seek, nor is capable of seeking global primacy.. So, it's definitely easier to deal with Russia, as compared to the US..
