So they are trying to do what China tried to do with us? Seems similar, weren't those troops also a part of some regular exercise ?
Pretty much even Russia was supposed to wrap up its exercise by march 23rd but now it is clear that most troops didn't move back but are now being reinforced with additional armor.

It is just good old Russia targeting to avoid the actual enemy China.
While it might seem like that a glance rest assured their is more to this situation that what western propaganda wants to tell you.

The whole situation started with a ukranian presidential decree to recapture crimea how they themselves were amassing troops while SAS units have been observed in that area along with NATO tankers and now a NATO conducting naval exercises just off the coast.

They are also trying to pressure EU into cancelling nord stream pipeline by propping up the Russia bogeyman.

India playing hard with Russia on Sputnik.. and now this, with the King Saudis.. I like this..

Also the sputnik rejection part could be plain old India-Russia haggling.. With Russia contracting to manufacture almost a billion doses of sputnik V, in India, India might want a good share of those doses at reduced prices.. as these doses will be in competition for limited supply of raw materials, with other vaccines manufactured in India..

This is an excellent interview with a lot of insider details about robust decision making of the government and the military where opinions of serving and retired personnel was taken, must watch for everybody here, the Colonel is very erudite and his analysis and predictions are extremely good.

They know Biden is a pushover and NATO is probably at the weakest point in history(economically/plague) so they are taking advantage?

contrary to the popular belief US cant do much except sanction them. Sanctioning them also pushes them deeper into the arms of China who is already their largest trading partner.

Russia has become quite resilient to sanctions it will hurt them surely but nothing they cannot handle.

US cannot allow Ukraine to join Nato as one of the clauses clearly states that countries in civil war cannot join nato and the EU is simply not interested in a new cold war when they are dealing with a slumping economy and covid at home.

so in conclusion sanctions hard talk some more sanctions but thats it.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if China and Russia act together US as of now is being stretched to its limit. They are dealing with covid at home trying to withdraw from a war in Afghanistan which they lost years ago while trying to make sure pakistan china and Russia don't gobble up Afghanistan once they are gone.

At the same time they are now facing a china-iran-russia alliance and trying to negotiate a deal with iran while facing a EU which is simply not ready to be bossed around anymore.

could be something could be nothing.
What will SK and Japan think now that Russia and China are both on Rampage?
Will they still trust US?
Things between Rus & Ukraine are heating up.

In twitter you can find news of latest flare up. Gunfire/mortar etc.

Also, very heavy movement of armor.

Just a spark is needed.

US has pledge to support Ukraine...
US is using Ukraine as a necessary sacrifice for a new hard containment of Russia.. a Cold war 2.0, but this time, the Iron Curtain will not be at East Germany, but much closer to Russia's core in Baltics and Poland.. Ukraine's leaders would know this.. But, God knows why they are entertaining America.. Whichever way this goes, US wins..
US apart from providing some weapons to Ukraine, will do nothing else.. If there is a war, large parts of Ukraine will be occupied by Russia.. This would nix whatever independent approaches that Germany and France might have towards Russia, nix Nord stream 2, nix what remains of EU-Russia trade, galvanize EU military spending, and place US in the driver seat of EU strategic policy.. Hope better sense prevails in Ukraine, and they don't do any rash moves

Let me expand a bit on this:-

Ukraine siding with NATO would had put an end to the lease of the Sevastopol port and give the US a very close grip over the gas pipelines that crossed over Ukraine's territory, that would had been a permanent crippling blow to Russian economy and strategic interests. The US grossly miscalculated the willingness of Russia to use military force to prevent that from happening, they thought that Russia would do nothing.

but as we all know Russia annexed Crimea to ensure the access to the Black Sea. This was a very risky move, the sanctions and political repercussions had a very high cost to the Russian economy, but in the long run, losing the access to the Black Sea would had been far worst.

They then destabilized Ukraine by causing a civil war of sorts in the donbass thus preventing EU from accepting them into NATO.

Finally they started building new gas pipelines to Europe to bypass Ukraine and prevent the US to crippling the main source of income for Russia. That's how the Nord Stream project was born.

Basically using a 3 point strategy Russia successfully managed to curb the influence of US in the region and thwart US attempts to corner russia into a more precarious position.

What we are witnessing now is US once again trying to push Ukraine into a conflict with false promises to stop nord steam project gain control over EU foreign policy and drain the Russian economy and eventually try and reduce Russian influence in black sea.

They are wasting their time on Russia when their main enemy is China.

It might seem like that but this is the behavior of a superpower trying to lash out at everyone trying to get a bit better of them be it russua china or India using some issue or the other they continue to poke us and hinder our growth.

It's more than that. Current us administration ( Biden democratic gang) don't really want to take on china as their doners ( billionaires like Bloomberg , companies like apple ) have heavy investments into china. They are all sold out already. Hence Russia is a ruse to distract American public while china remain in shadows .

This strategy has failed for decades and will only make/made china a much stronger enemy in present/future.
