It is not strictly necessary. In event of an emergency, a little incursion into Bangladesh can be negotiated (or forced), there is no clear demarcated border with Bangladesh around the chicken neck.

However, GoI is nowhere near that visionary to negotiate the land deal.

Unlike Ladakh, Sikkim we have excellent infrastructure. In the Naku-la area, we dominate, China is lacking in roads or infrastructure there.
