Our fighter project lacks only engine...We will get GE engines independent of US sanctions as it's company to company deal and DRDO- RollsRoyce JV is developing new engine for future Indian fighters with IP being with India so no problem. If somehow US blocks GE engines as a contingency measure safran M88 engines will be used...

It ll be foolish if they put sanction . It ll change geopolitics of the world . China russia ll be more than happy in such scenario . India ll have to see for alternatives if they show such short sightedness . All those fighter programs ll be delayed .

This is a pressuring tactic of China a usual work of China in South China sea.
China is not going to launch invasion but they want to pressurize Philippines goverment since this incident will gain news in Pillipinies public.

M88 is a family of engines weighing up to multiple thurst categories. For contingency and keeping our depleted squadrons if we're forced with uncle biden sanctions we will end up with M88. Also US is no fool to lose millions of worth contract for its defence MIC. They will sanction us exempting this order.
Kaveri is work in progress - turbo fan blade and metallurgy we're working hard on to get the core right.
JV - DRDO- RollysRoyce can be successful if we take it up seriously backing with funds.
We will have indigenous two engines for future aircrafts
