China’s huge population is aging fastest due to falling birth rates and rising life expectancy. Isnt chainese economical growth is based on labour intensive manufacturing .The drop in labor force, increases labor costs, makes goods less competitive. China will get old before it gets rich. Beyond 2030, China’s economic growth faces a cap, when the overall dependency ratio starts spiking. If China must be a superpower, it must get rich before it becomes old and decline sets in.

Yes, this is why Xi Pingpong has started the "Made in China 2025" and "Dual Circulation" schemes.

"Dual Circulation" means pushing for a larger domestic consooma market for everything, reducing dependence on exports oriented economy.

"Made in China 2025" is for producing high tech manufactured items, semiconductors, jet engines, air planes, machines etc, which are high capex, high R&D and less labor intensive compared to what they produce today, these categories above are what developed countries export like Anglosphere, EU, Japan, Korea, Taiwan etc.

Currently their other unspoken scheme is to offshore labour intensive electronics assembly, plastic items, production to ASEAN countries, and offshore clothes and shoe manufacture to African countries( mainly Ethiopia for now ).

Thanks to kungfu virus , China is isolated and an isolated China is in a two-front situation with its biggest competitors. Chinese products are low margin and China requires lots of scale. Also because the Chinese steal intellectual property, no American company locates cutting edge software companies in China. For example, Google or Oracle wont let their software code be shipped to China. Indian companies are more trusted and engineers work on cutting edge AI technologies in Google, Microsoft, Amazon etc in India. The key skills are there. In manufacturing, it is a question of intent and scale and we can do that if we remove the red tapism and the babus. In another 50 years, India will pull ahead of China if our governments can get their act together. It is a big if but it is in the realms of possibility.

a few months ago there was talk of conducting an inquiry into origins of china virus and making china pay damages for their intent/negligence. i'm a little disheartened that all this has died down since then and even the likes of australia and japan have signed up for rcep while talking about QUAD. if or when trump vacates the oval office it will be a lone battle for us who have been the only ones to actually implement something and not just provide lip service.

I want to touch a different angle in this conflict. India being a nuclear state, isn't it supposed to act as a deterrent against against any powerful agression from another country. So why has that not happened here, and why is china agressive against nuclear India ?
We dont try to bully pakistan the same way china is trying here. Pakistani nuclear deterrent is working in this case.
So why is it not working in indian case ? what is wrong with out nuclear policy ?And what can be done to make it work, so that china thinks twice before nudging india anywhere along the border ?
